[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)

Just wanted to remind you guys to make sure you have sounds included in your loot filter, as well as having the loot filter sound volume turned up in sound options (GGG just added this option).

I was breezing through a Dunes map last night and I heard a strange sound. Not recognizing the sound, I ran back several screens to look around and found a lonely

tucked away in a corner that I never would have noticed if I didn't have my filter to help.

Good luck everyone!

When I was levelling someone gave me a 5 link +2 level Bow for free.
Found a Shavronne's wrappings at Act 2 Merciless.
Sold it for Carcass jack+few exalts.

Bought this bow for 1 exalt.

Drillneck is just 2c in Prophecy anyway.
Prophecy treating me really well.
3.1K hp atm at level 65,resists capped, no mana problems and clear speed is good too.
Should make my transition to MF soon after Andvarius and capping resists again.
Thanks for this awesome guide!
Well, it's done

But wow, what a pain. Each time I got +2 bows and regaled, I kept getting a prefix. Scour and start over. Did that 4 times in total.

Next up (will take awhile), I'll 6-link this and then probably go for dual resists via multimod.
So with this build, there will be lots of rare items drop. Are we supposed to pick up all of them?

If we do, where are we supposed to get ID scroll?

If we don't, what the point of MF?

Sorry I am a bit confused.

Most of them. You'll get a feel for what 2h'ers to avoid in order to save room and maximize rare pickups. You're mostly looking at staffs, bows (for +3 gems) and Vaal Axes.

Scrolls = vendoring transmutes, scraps, stones, portal scrolls (you'll get a portal gem).

If you aren't vendoring lots of rares and doing lots of recipes, don't MF. That's a significant portion of the income from MF. It does have other benefits (slightly better chance of good unique drops, the sheer amount of rares you'll be dropping mean that you'll have a greater chance of finding good rares) but unless you're taking full advantage of it, I would recommend just doing a high dps build.

My progress so far:
Spoiler
Dropped Exalt in Bog map, spend it +20c for my second Andy:

83%, almost perfect roll.
Bought MF helmet, amulet and chaos res + AoE dmg jewel.
After all this I have 20/259 MF, which is nice! Have to run Purity of Elements though, my chaos res is -30% in merciless, and HP is 3.3k, so there is plenty room for improvement still. Bought seething flasks, they are life savers!

Slowly moving to higher maps. Currently running rare tier 5-7 maps, very comfortable.

Serleth, maybe it is worth to add section about Masters into FAQ? For example, since we convert alts->jews->fuses, it looks reasonable to start with Elreon+Vorici to lvl 5 for their discounts. Another key craft, Catarina lvl 8 is mentioned in bow crafting, but maybe cross-referencig her in Masters section would be useful for new players. In any case, your thoughts on masters for this build would be very useful.

From a conversation a few pages back...Thoughts on masters

Having it in the FAQ might be helpful, at the very least to centralize the reference information.
Done.

Swapped out of MF gear, level 19 gem in a +3 bow with CoH setup to sustain Frenzy charges (4L'd), 5.3k life, 10.7k unbuffed tooltip dps.

Could I get a bit more guidance on this? I think it would be beneficial for hardcore players to get your advice on survive-ability/damage balance whilst getting as many keys as possible. Might be worth including in the guide post actually. I'm mostly keen just to ascend but if it is possible to farm safely/effectively i have seen some good loot come out of it on reddit.

@hankinsohl

Thanks for the math! 70 alts down and no +2 :(
