[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)
" You have three affixes on that bow, one prefix (+2) and two suffixes (dex and accuracy). You are able to mastercraft the +1 on with out any issues. The is it worth it is a question you will need to answer. If you want the extra resistances and have the patience/orbs to hit them in crafting, than try again, but it also might not matter. The bow Serleth posted a while back has crit as a suffix, and that does nothing for the cloud damage either. Getting the +3 is likely more important " I'm generally more casual when it comes to the progression of the build. I don't really have a shop, so currency generation is all based on play time, and I tend to play through till the last day of the leagues. Because of this I do not feel rushed to get the rings or the bow in the first ~5 days of a league(but it is still impressive to all those who do). The atmosphere here has always been really supportive, which is one of the reasons I like to show my slower progress. It might be encouraging to those who feel a little behind as it were, to see others at a similar speed of progress through the build. One the flip side, is good to see Hank and Serleth really power to the 'finished' state because it emphasis how the build can work and how quick it gets off the ground, for those looking to do so. |

Well, I switched from totems to CA.
So this seems like an appropriate time to account for the switch :-) Yes, it's another Noxic tale - skip if not interested.
Spoiler
A Bow for Noxic =============== The Auctioneer's Square in Sarn is where the His Majesty's Lord Auctioneer - a lofty title hardly befitting of the position - auctioneer to exiles in the penal colony of Wraeclast - plies his trade. On this day, The Lord Auctioneer - Nelber the Kind, by name - had up for bid various armors and weapons taken from one of the outlaw bands mercilessly put down by the King's army. Nelber the Kind - so-named by the exiles in ironic reference to his unusually hostile demeanor when treating with Wraeclast's denizens - cleared his throat and struck the gavel resting on the large wooden stand behind which he stood, with a wooden mallet. "Attention Exiles," bellowed Nelber. "Next at auction is this fine bow of excellent workmanship and quality." Nelber held up a bow, which in truth looked rather worn and ill-used.
Spoiler
"The bidding starts at 5 silvers. Who will bid 5?," Nelbert continued. Two hands shot up from among the crowd gathered in front of Nelbert's stand. Nelbert pointed at a rather large but elderly exile. "Five it is." "Do I hear 10? 10 for this most excellent bow." The crowd seemed to have lost interest. "10, anyone 10? Going once, twice..." Suddenly, the second exile raised her hand once more. Nelbert pointed at the lass. "10 it is." "15, do I hear 15 for this wonderous weapon?" The crowd had clearly had enough of this - why the bow was hardly worth 5 silvers, let alone 10. "Sold to the ugly lass in the back!," laughed Nelbert. "Sold for 10 silvers!" The lass pushed her way to the front of the crowd and paid out 10 coins in exchange for the bow. "Oh thank you great Seer! Thank you, thank you!," said the lass as the bow was passed to her. "What was that?," said Nelbert in surprise. An evil grin appeared on the lass' face. "Oh, nothing. Nevermind," she said as she made off with the bow. ============== The very next day once again saw the High Lord Auctioneer in lofty position high up in Auctioneer's Square: Nelbert's lifeless head gazed down upon the square suspended from a spike. A notice next to the spike warned citizens not to steal from the King's coffers lest they too join Nelbert on above. ============== In His Magesty's Counting Room, the First Accountant scratched his head once more. "Quite puzzling," he said to himself. "Puzzling indeed." For the First Accountant could not explain why 10 stones lay among the coins in the King's treasure room. " Same here, but my progression little bit faster (i think cuz i spent more time mb)
Spoiler
and i have no currency for the ring atm :) So its just selffound chanced with orbs rings Personally for me is a little bit sad, that slayer's with low budget runs all day long uber lab and could get much more profit than just MFing and forcing currencies in maps. Or they are super-lucky or reward is rly unbalanced (especially piles of high-level 20 quality gems). Especially u need Catarina craft and +4 lvl empower for much more comfortable play. Right now with 7.3k tooltip unbuff dps farming t7-8 kinda slow for me. Any suggestion about gear except rings? " Why didnt u picked bow with move speed? Or u just bought rdy to use bow? And i saw in thread guys picking w/o implicts or with ele dmg, but for the best optin, should i use with move speed, right? P.s. If u want i can craft leo mod for u for free, but gettin 3 lvl didnt took much time. Last edited by omgree#6588 on Jun 8, 2016, 9:58:06 AM

I must say... single target DPS is not bad at all with CA nowadays. It's been quite awhile since I've played CA (it was poison arrow when I last played) so maybe I'm misremebering - but I thought that with poison arrow we had a lot more problems with single target DPS.

" Well a few comments based on past experience with this build. 1) CA really comes into its own with a 6-link and high gem levels. With a +1/+2 bow and 21 CA, you just rip though maps in no time in full magic find gear. This is a wealth magnet. 2) This league though is pretty harsh on magic find builds. A big part of our income is selling fuses/jewelers/alts - thanks to the Fated Connections Prophecy, the cost of fuses has sunk big time. Personally, I expect to see the price recover later in the league since I expect that the Fated Connection Prophecy will be quite rare, and I don't foresee anyone selling fuses in bulk at 240 for an exalt - no way I'm doing that. 3) Many CA players will roll a second toon each league - we knock out the wealth-intensive challenges on CA and then use CA to fund other fun builds. So if you have a particular second character in mind that you'd like to try, go for it! I think in the end though, if you stick with CA and get that 6-link +1/+2 bow, your go-to money maker will be your CA toon. Edit: Your gear looks fine to me. Next up Andvarious as soon as you can afford them. Last edited by hankinsohl#1231 on Jun 8, 2016, 10:47:40 AM

" I understand it, but just wondering the best option to achive is with MS? Thx hankinsohl, agree that we need more time to show our full power :) Guys, have a few questions about currency managment: 1. Best way to obtain ID scrolls? Cuz i've spending tham so much. Farm museum + selling orb of transmutation? 2. What about orbs of transmutation? U can obtrain them if u trade unind items, but i think its not the best idea and we already earning alts. Or u guys not focusing on transmutes? Last edited by omgree#6588 on Jun 8, 2016, 11:59:17 AM

" The best in slot base type for bows is the Maraketh Bow with the implicit 6% move speed. If you are aiming to min/max this build to its fullest potential you want move speed on your bow. If not looking to min/max the build, it is just more quality of life. |
|
"Depends. Move speed is likely the best option, high shots per second can be useful as well. I've gotten off to an exceptionally slow start this league. Still not finished normal! No worries, I'll get there. :) Edit: 400+ pages! Congratz guys! Current league IGN: Teldra_Anc_LAD Feel free to message me in game if I'm on.
