Interesting.

Now that fragment farming isn't worthwhile, Atziri drops should become much more expensive.

General consensus is vaal side areas are now more naturally common, however. So maybe not.

But in a way, I hope so. Just probably not for this league with more people probably doing sets due to the grind challenge.

To be clear, I did use +1 cold setup -> swapped to controlled destruction and the like. Though I was running enfeeble in a 4 man party instead. Did you stop using vortex? I found that trying to 1. cast frost bolt 2. drop frost bomb 3. cast vortex was really clunky, whereas firestorm + FT let me be a lot more mobile.

In any case I've transitioned to 5L +2 bow CA, and it's working out great. Thanks for the builds and discussion :)

I was just using straight Frostbolt. Found the dps was good enough that I didn't need to worry about Vortex/Nova.

leveling with blade vortex works well, tho i took few crit nodes before switching to CA.

As a hardcore player, yeah, you'll want to switch to MF much later than we would in SC.

I wouldn't even think about adding MF gear in HC til level 75, and I'd personally wait til level 80.

Until then, it's all about life/eva/res. Drop Foible for any amulet with life on it and DUMP levels into Clarity to compensate. Take an intelligence node if you have to.

You'll also want to id every hallowed+ life flask you come across and the moment you see a Seething prefix, use that flask. Quite literally a life-saver in HC to have at least one Seething life flask, and I wouldn't run with less than two.

How do we get from 90% to 100% pierce? I have Deadeye Ascendancy, Drillneck, and the 50% piercing shots wheel, but I'm not sure where my other 10% comes from, any help?

I bit the bullet and sold fuse at 4:1 in order to buy the Goldwyrms for 8c; drops starting coming much faster with the Nubricks and Item Rarity gem. Got lucky and dropped an exalt which funded the Andvarius.

Best start so far magic finding in the leagues I've played.

The ways to hit 100% since the changes to the Ascendant is to either using the Pierce Support, or the Poacher's Aim quest jewel. I am not sure if either is worth it in the MF setup.

Does the 90% feel a lot different compared to the 100% in the 2.2 patch?
