[outdated] Caustic Arrow Solo Map MFer (20/300+)

The easiest way to do this is with the Less Duration support gem, which will soon also grant More Damage to duration skills.

From the Jan-10-2016 news announcement.

Looks like we have another "more damage" support to consider soon.

We're already reducing duration with Rapid Decay.

Wouldn't bother.

Wondering if you guys would scour and start over for better suffix mods before master crafting? Or just say fuckit and craft as is? I already have a bad +3 6L bow to use so it not a huge rush.

The ideal master craft is:

* Mastercraft a random suffix (dex is cheapest)
* Regal for +2
* Scour & repeat until successful
* Remove suffix mod @ bench so you're left with a single stat +2 bow gems rare.
* No attack mod + exalt all gems +1
* Remove cata mod @ bench
* Multimod, dot, two resistances.

If you're already running a +3 bow, that's the process you should take so you can force dual res and Leo DoT.

Well... things will pick up quite a bit as your gear and gems progress. A lot more than you might think.

I noticed that you don't seem to be concentrating on magic find at the moment - which is fine (but note, that by focusing on magic find first, you'll probably be able to improve your gear faster than if you went for DPS fist).

That said, one "trick" I've played in the past is to use the Hidden Potential jewel with a bunch of blues (I ran 8 blues at one point, LOL). You can get pretty good DPS this way on starting-level gear - but again, keep in mind, that you'll probably progress faster by equipping magic find gear as soon as you're able.

tl/dr; don't worry too much about clear speed/dps at first. Just focus on magic find initially. That way you can buy even more magic find, and it will snowball - to the point that you'll be able to purchase the nice DPS gear you want.

Edit: Oh, be sure to keep frenzy charges up at all times. Frenzy is a huge boost to DPS. And for bosses, you'll want to eventually get a Wither totem going - looks like you're working on this though.

I usually purchase and Andvarius, then a Goldwyrm and get a lot of rarity on my gloves/helm. Then I'd get a drillneck and another Andvarius. Finally I'd save up for a 6-link +3.

The one time I did run 8 rares along with Hidden Potential I found myself far, far, far behind in terms of gear than just about everyone else. Lesson learned - focus on MF first.

thank you

You're most welcome.

And please feel free to post back in this thread if you have anymore questions, or if you're stuck on something.

Serleth (or maybe someone else) will be sure to reply in quick order.

I've learned more about POE because of this thread than any other resource... thanks mainly to Serleth and other frequent thread contributors.

I absolutely love this build. Been getting lucky with drops (2 sets of Maligaro gloves in as many days). I love seeing big ticket items drop!

Following the advice of what some others said...I dropped high level wither/vulernability and clarity for lower level ones because the INT was getting crazy. This is my gear now (just finished mutlimodding my bow today).

And before anybody says anything...I ran out of blessed orbs for one of my andy's haha.

Life is a little low but I'll make that up with a couple more levels and jewels. Dot cloud is just over 11k right now.

My next goal is to save fuse/chromes to 6L my bow.

Im curious where I should go from here with my build. I'm only at like 6k when he is at 15k? Im sure it will increase greatly as I level at get more jewel slots but wondering what else I can do for now. Thank you for any input.

Hello, is there any sense to change Ventor's Gamble ->> Advarius?
My stat:
qGloves - 369/118 + Flask (75+ res)
Aurseize - 405/103 + Flask (75+ res)

Jewel slots, yep, and you're missing 1 gem level from bow, 1 gem level from using 20 PA instead of 21, and three levels from Empower (Empower 4 = 2 levels, +1 all gems = 1 level, = 3 levels total from Empower), that's five gem levels missing.

Granted, the 15-16k I show in the finished build does have an Empower 4, so you should expect more like 14k.

Also, sounds like your 6k isn't factoring in having all 7 frenzy charges up.

Hey Serleth and company. I'm actually using this build for the second time around in TSC (used it in Warbands before), and it's still probably the best MF build I've used that actually deals respectable damage while still being fun to play. I ended up coming back to this build after trying to put together an MF summoner, which would have worked out alright if I didn't dislike the summoner playstyle so much...

Anyway, I'm a notorious cheapass, so I've done my best to keep all purchases under 5c individually while still stacking good life/resists/rarity, with exceptions made to things I consider pivotal, like Goldwyrm. I've spent maybe a total of 30-35c on the build excluding linking and socketing costs, so don't expect the prettiest gear in this department. The Drillneck, 5-link bow, and Greed's Embrace were also self-found, which made coming back to this build more attractive to me.

I took a little risk with the ring and amulet (it was 1c!) purchases, but ended up being able to craft rarity on all of them. They're not Andvarius tier, but they'll work alright for now.

I still have a lot of min-maxing to do in regards to items and jewels, and I would like to pick up a nice Maraketh bow in the future specifically, but for now things are progressing pretty alright. Life is probably the biggest issue, but I'm hoping jewels, some better jewelery, and the Scion life wheel will sort it out.

So there's a progress report from some random guy on the internet. Thanks for putting together such an excellent MF build, and going out of your way to answer so many questions in the thread. I really appreciate all the work you guys put into it!

Bonus: Even though MF has a minimal impact on unique drops, I'd still like to attribute this one to this build:
