What about using Pillar of the Caged God with this? Would that be plausible?

If you check the passive tree, you can notice that we take the life + reduced mana cost of skills nodes between templar and marauder. I had no mana problems in the beta with a 5-link, all I had was one piece of gear with mana leech. You can check the video in my first post.

I'd go for the uppermost part of the tree last (the chaos res+life nodes and crit staff nodes).

As for CWDT, yes, it was nerfed, but you will have endurance charges up relatively often because of Smashing Strikes, so it will make your IC at least 1.5-2 secs with 3 endurance charges. There is an alternative option if you just want to have endurance charges up constantly: Vengeance linked to Melee Physical Damage + Endurance Charge on Melee Stun + Increased Aoe or Stun gem. But the problem with that is your block chance is relatively low, and even when you do block, vengeance procs only 30% of the time, so, you do the math :) of course, in the end, it's your choice :)

It would definitely be a very good leveling item. Not that good for late-game, though, not for this build at least.

Ah, I see. I didn't check the notable passives last night. Now it makes sense why there's no endurance charge generator in the sockets. Thank you, looking forward to use this build tonight :D

Hey there! This build looks really fun and I will try it in the new league. I have one question though and it is possible that I have not done enough research, but.. What is the reasoning behind taking only one jewel slot?

Also which jewel slots would you go for if you were to add any? (If adding jewels would make sense)

A lot of jewel slots are nearby, so it's not a problem if you are really lucky with jewel drops, you can easily spec into more jewel slots :) doesn't matter which you go for, unless if you need a specific position for a unique jewel (like intuitive leap)
