The Closed Beta of The Awakening is live!
" That's your opinion I guess, but I'm pretty sure more people agree than disagree with me that are actual supporters. gl to all anyways. |

I calculated that a 16 thousands of players can enter into the game if closed beta lasts 8 weeks, it's like 10% or less of poe population,i'ma a big dissapointed very sad now, thx for the torture.

" im guessing its hard to maintain too many people as i imagine that they have two different servers up. im not sure since i know next to nothing (forgive my ignorance) but with all the managing and what-not, 400 seems reasonable as a start. i dont think they intend to get everyone in, so just cross your fingers and hope you're one of the lucky few :D |

I guess i am going to play Diablo 3, at least they let me play there betas.

I do very much hope that when the expansion actually hits live, there won't be a league of any sort released right off the bat. Especially is everyone doesn't get a chance to try out the beta.
And on the subject and topic of the beta, everything around it revolves around how you view it. From GGG:s point of view, it's a good move since they get to try things out, get peoples opinions, see so that everything works, so fourth and so on. From a players stand point, when a game is already out, and beta is released for the game, a closed one at that, it will be unfair no matter what. Now I may view this the wrong way, but, it almost would have made more sense in my head to develop the patch until the dev team was satisfied and release the actual expansion. This might be very cynical of me, but even if people getting the beta are supposed to test it, and help, in a way, to develop it, most of them will only play the actual game. Not to hype the shit out of people and than make the majority of them upset by not giving them access to it. tl;dr im not salty, I just believe that this was a mistake, and I, atleast hope that they don't do this again for future expansions |

So where exactly is the update on the FAQ page where it asks how people who only use Steam get into the Beta?
Still don't have a clue about that or what? That is really the only thing pissing me off right now, cus even if i would get in, how the hell would i be able to play. | |
" I'm sure a lot of people understand your point of view here, but it simply wasn't an option for them. The problem is that you've got changes to fundamental aspects of the game, and lots of them. The dev team can make the changes and take into account everything they can think of, but it's a "fact" of development that there's almost always something that gets forgotten. When it comes to balancing games, that problem is magnified ten-fold. Balancing games is difficult in the first place, and making core game changes is that much harder to balance. Simply put, they just need the input form players. It sucks that it's a closed beta, but they have to do it if they're going to release a satisfactory expansion. Note: If you whisper me and someone responds with a stupid IGN, it's probably me. |
