[1.3] Soul Harvest - Crit firestorm - Atziri farm - by DreamScythe

This is an original guide which makes use of the item 'The Harvest'.
-Runs Atziri/ 78 maps easily.

Main Spells:
I use firestorm for this build because it has the highest potential to achieve the most critical strikes. Soul's are harvested so we can use a 25 second vaal molten which can be anywhere from 4 - 6 linked.

The harvest has 3 notable affixes:

3% crit per level

Recharges flasks on crit

6% life leech on critical Strike



Obviously the most important stat is the flask charging because it allows us to recharge unique and non-surgeons flasks very quickly - Most importantly, the diamond flask.

However, the life leech on critical is actually quite powerful because it applies to ALL your spells and attacks, even the ones not linked in the weapon.

Current Gear


Gear explanation:

Weapon: The Harvest: because its badass, and needs an awesome build around it.

Chest: CoD is the ideal choice because it provides us with Mind Over Matter and Mana regen. This is a universal defense vs. spells and attacks, which is why it is preferred over Lightning Coil. However, this build can still be played with almost any 6L (do not use carcass jack)

Helm: ES helm with life and resists works fine. If you can afford a scold's bridle, you will see a massive damage increase, and you will proc 2-6 second immortal call's using CoDt gem.

Rings and amulet: try to look for cast speed, life, spell/fire damage. I'm still experimenting with different stats.

Belt: If you can afford it, use headhunter. Otherwise, stick to life/resists. You can also use doryani's belt, however I find the life is better.

Gloves: Maligaros provide crit chance, multiplier, and some much needed Dex.

Boots: Find a nice pair of Es boots, again look for life and resists.

Why firestorm? Crit discharge would be nicer

Edit: nvm, for harvesting flasks

crit discharge might work instead of Vaal molten shell, however the vaal molten shell with a diamond has about 75% chance to crit and it also hits very hard.

I'd try this with perhaps Spark, as the tree is nearly the same, and you can actually see what's going on with Spark as opposed to Firestorm.

Clear speed seems quite nice but I'm wondering : couldn't you try and do something with all those gem slots taken by CwDT ? I don't think those low lvl spells do much damage and you could get Power Charges plenty other ways (maybe just a CwDT + Ice Spear + PCoC (+ eventually another AoE spell))
Have you also considered planning a build maintaining perma resis flasks with the Harvest ? Having 10% max resis is always seriously OP, especially when combined with Purities if you can afford it somehow.

By the way, just a tip : for all those gems you don't want to level appearing on the right of your screen, right click on the "+" marker to make them go away, they will only appear in your inventory.

the low level gems are just used for power charges AND they also crit to refill more flask charges. I use this because every time i use Doedre's flask, I proc the low level skills. My other character uses ice spear for power charges, but i feel these low level skills work better and are more fluent than using ice spear. As for the resist flasks, i carry additional flasks in my inventory - if a map has heavy lightning damage for example, i throw one on.

Also that tip about the + gems thing is quite useful! thanks mate!

there are 2 six links potentially at our disposal, so it's possible to use spark / firestorm, or spark / vaal molten shell. or even vaal spark for that matter. Firestorm does dramatically higher damage vs. single target from what i have seen though.
