In my Eyes, PvP is just a joke created by 2 Streamers who actually needed some fame.

Fun fact. In the 2 seasons of PvP I've participated in, I have made well over 5 times the amount of currency in items compared to what I spent on gear and gems. People need to stop using the excuse of "it isn't worth wasting my currency".

The only potential issue is that for players who don't have currency to begin with, it is very difficult to WIN events. Whether or not that is a problem is strictly a matter of opinion. I personally would like to somehow see a mix of events where most are the same as they are now gear wise, as well as some events with premade only characters (of much better quality than the current ones), or premade gear.

And you still got opie items on your chars! :)
I almost wanted to agree with you until you mentioned League of Legends.

But League of Legends works as an example. He's right that people start every game on even ground and skill/teamwork are huge determinants of victory (whether you like LoL or not, you can't escape this fact). The truth is PoE PvP is a joke; we've made it one. While I still play, I sympathize with people who can't find the reasons to play PvP. There simply isn't enough incentive and I hope we remedy that. The attitude of PvPers that others should adapt and gear up and blah blah blah is going to get the PvP scene nowhere. We need easier gear accessibility, lower crafting costs, and better pre-constructed characters.

Already made back my investment into my temp league pvp character, and then some on rewards alone. Mixed with the fact that if two people, are equally geared, then the fights become fun. So I've gotten both fun and currency doing PvP, which proves that ignorance is also one key factor limiting PvP growth.

But I do agree the entry barrier must be lowered, some people have said lower multimod cost for items ilvl 36 and below, and I don't see why that can't be done. Buffing the premades can be a slippery slope, at what point does it become "good enough" but not "why gear up when premades are good enough".

I agree. Something has to change. Currently race events have about 10x the activity compared to pvp events. The incentive is currently very low for pvp.

I don't see how GGG will justify spending continued development time in to pvp with low participation. They will probably eventually abandon it and focus their resources on what their paying customers participate in (pve and races).

GGG was probably banking on pvp participation to skyrocket after 1.3. Most likely a failed experiment in their mind.

I don't mean to be negative. I really enjoy POE's pvp but there's a lot of barriers to fun competition that most aren't willing to pass.

Lower multimod cost on ilvl below 36 I think is a fantastic idea to make entry to pvp easier.

Add better preconfigured character gear to that, ex: geofris cyclone marauder, 140-150 dps phys bow ranger, usable freezing pulse or fireball witch and we would have some contenders.

These characters have to be set up and ready to use, 4 links at least, and just make everything un-tradeable. I would be glad to help plan these if GGG wanted to pursue this avenue. Make them viable tier 2 characters.

The better they are, the more likely people are to use them, and then since more people will be using them - more people will be able to use one to gain season points from beating other preconfigured chars.

Hello Everyone.

I want to discuss about PvP and how it really is.

The way how it's actually is makes no sense.
It is based on budget. Not on skill. The player who spent 20 Exalts on his gear (multimod everywhere; Maligaro's with Ele Weakness on Hit) obviously wins with a big advantage.
This is why I am not going to be interested in PvP until it is balanced and equality for everyone.

ofc its base on gear, its an hack n slash, pvp here is just another cool feature for fun, if you want competitiv pvp base on skill you will not find that in this kind of game....
