Well that is half-true.
You see when it comes to PvP you don't have to play it if you don't like it and you don't miss on anything.
But when it comes to party play if PoE becomes even more party-centered you'll need to play in a party. Even now playing in a party is much more beneficial than playing on your own when it comes to safety, clear speed, experience and item gains per map. At the moment playing in a party is almost "a must" if you want to get as much as possible from your high level maps ( and trust me you want to get as much as you can because it's so damn hard to sustain a healthy high level map pool ). Now imagine if PoE is even more about playing in a party ... that will ultimately force ( in a way like you are "forced" to use transportation in order to go to another town... you might hate trains and you might love walking... but in the end you'll take the train just because it is more efficient ) people to play in a party and not everyone enjoys that.

I was able to hit level 96 only playing solo ... and yup ... it's so much harder and slower when you are playing alone that it's almost unbearable!

EC has always been a pain to keep up, not that it´s
hard but the way it slow the gameplay down. Even with
inc. duration passives (2 of em) it´s still only 16 sec.

Compare it with frenzy/power charges that you generate
even when doing something usefull and on the go.
Sure EC on stun is possible with lets say leap slam
problem is bosses) and you still need> stun and ec on stun
linked with leap slam.

I liked the way d2 handled warcry buffs (longer duration).
and no req. for monsters to be near.

If GGG feels like they need to keep the:
have x monster near give y endurence charges, maybe they
could considerate to at least change the code so that
rare/unique/boss types counts as more then one monster.

For melee its a really irksome job to keep EC up in a
bossfight (hard boss). Since you dont wana get hit when
not leeching or get interupted (and the need to recast
every 10/16 is tiresome/boring/irksome, not hard).

I hope they change the way "warcry" gems works and
figure something out so you can instant cast warcry gems
even when using other skill gems. (then they could keep
the low duration).
The CWDT can do it so maybe its a way to work around the
limitation av the gameengine in a similar way for those
gemtypes.

It's just a suggestion.
So imagine i am melee in a group with a ranged.

Do I run in and risk dying to try and get 1 hit in before everything is killed up to 2 screens away....

Or

Do I cast enduring cry as I watch everything killed up to 2 screens away and stand there with my endurance charges surrounded by corpses?

Decisions decisions.


To make these changes you would at least need a proper skill queue system, some proper balancing between ranged and melee and a complete overhall of all the 1 hit mechanics in this game.

It's not too early for concern, but it's way too early for QQ.

how would you lose the ability to self-cast EC ? you'll just lose the interaction with spell echo, thats all. maybe you phrased it wrong and are concerned about losing the ability to automatically cast EC ?

Gimmicky - Melee builds are not flexible enough for anything but the strongest defensive abilities. Like trigger gems, 99% of these will be phased out before the player hits maps, especially in hardcore.


Who said melee? its a war cry so it can go on a totem. Spawn totem, slow, attract, and activate debuffer on enemies. That is, if they allow war cries to still be used on totems. Otherwise i can still use it for melee character someway or another. Melee builds are only as flexible as the creators mind, sorry that you can't think of any other way than defensive focus. It doesn't get much more defensive than 10% life regen with 10% life leech without OP gear anyway.
