I think this image does not need any kind of correction.

Agree.
its a bit overcontrasty ya, but thing is on different screens images can look very different, on my laptop I looked at my pic and it was really washed out and light looking, but on my main screens its really dark and hard contrasted, and I sort of know my main screen is a bit over the top and my laptop is washy already. I trust my main screen more tbh but you never know what someone else is seeing exactly.

cheers for playing with it though, I appreciate that you took the time and ty for the kind words.

Thanks, but I prefer to play with words now. First book goes on sale the 21st.

for real? GG mate. What sort of stuff is it? fiction? like a novel? do tell.

I must admit its been aeons since I properly read a book, sad to say, Im not really one for actually reading any more, just dont have the time or the attention span. Internet screwed my brain :D

I do audio books now, Im signed up with audible, its like netflix for audio books. Im a big fan of epic science fiction stuff, Ian M Banks, Peter Hamilton etc, dunno if youve heard of those guys. The old Frank Herbert "Dune" series was a favourite from back in the day, Ive actually read those books IRL once upon a time, back in the 90s somewhere I think. I just listen now, Im usually grinding maps while listening to an audio book while listening to a film score while Ive got a stream on my second monitor with the volume off... I swear man the net just killed my ability to just enjoy 1 thing at a time.

I used to listen to music, like actually sit there on my bed with a cd player on listening, no screen involved, a tape deck even. Feels like 1000 lifetimes ago when I was a far younger, more patient, focused human being.

Really good stuff, didn't know you were so talented in this.

And yeah, one of my biggest enjoyments of late has been strapping on my headphones, closing my eyes and just enjoying the music. I had the same issue as you, I had to listen to music, play game and watch a tv show on a screen behind, while browsing net every 10 minutes to check for news.

Now I've purposefully decided to slow down a bit and focus. Yesterday I sat there for 40 minutes listening to new Ensiferum album. And you wouldn't believe how much the experience of music changes when you are really focused on it and perceive all the instrument and nuances of the track.
„I don't give a fuck if it was his tenth anniversary with his goddamn neckbeard...“
„If they think I'm going to let them sweep this pizza guy thing under the rug...“
No mod action. Business as usual.

cheers mate. Im a graphic designer/illustrator, that's what I do for a living so I get a lot of practice, when you do something every day you become somewhat competent at it I guess, at least I hope so lol. I don't usually do stuff like this though, obviously grew up drawing and painting but its mostly digital vector work I end up doing now days, if you want a semi realistic look you're better off just manipulating photography I think. This is the sort style I more often end up doing

I cant really post a proper work project because I like to keep the fact I play 1000s of hours of games a year separate from my work life if you know what I mean :D. Mostly I dont illustrate though its usually corporate documents, 100s of pages of text and graph layouts etc, logos, packaging, usual graphic design shit. Im not an artist, I feel like an artist has a vision, Im just a software technician who works to order.

I know exactly what you mean about music details too. Actually on the side I do a bit of sound engineering, production etc for like club music in London, taking djs 'sketches' of music and making it sound somewhat professionalish, sort of, maybe 'louder' is a better term Kappa. About the only time now days I actually listen in to music is when Im messing with it. Sounds fun maybe but actually it kind of detracts from the enjoyment of music. I hear people like Pohx and Foxtactics playing artists like Cell Dweller on their streams and half of me is thinking thats sort of cool sounding, and the other half is thinking ok, I can hear that bass is native instruments Massive software synth using these waveform presets modulated with this filter etc and it just adds to not being able to appreciate the music for what it is, sadly. I really do need to take the time to actually enjoy music alone again tho, I miss it.

Glad I'm not the only one!
I'm not really into production, but I've been playing an instrument and in orchestras for a long time, while also having at least looked into making electronic music (and listening to a lot of it).

Hearing music without dissecting it is tough for me, and once you recognize every piece, you can't really enjoy to it anymore. Takes longer for certain edm genres though :)
