[Additional notes] As my entry to the PoE Fan Art Competition announced by Bex_GGG on Feb 4, 2015, I decided to portray my favourite build and character in PoE as of now – my level 90 Hardcore League Eldritch Battery MOM crit flame totem witch ‘Jeria’.

Some of you might pick up on the specific items as well as microtransactions I tried to depict in this piece. The most fun (and challenging) one was certainly Cloak of Defiance, as I had to extrapolate from the 2D art of her armour and “fit” that projection onto her torso in the illustration.

The two flame totems skinned as Olmecs were very fun to render, and funnily enough they ended up with fairly wacky expressions because I tried to show nozzles from their mouths for the flame, ha ha.

Overall I am quite glad with how this turned out, there were points in time a few hours into drawing this piece that I felt like it was going nowhere, but eventually parts of the illustration clicked together and it went smoothly near the end.

Lastly, for anyone reading this who plays Hardcore (permanent) League and want to do some high level mapping, my witch is certainly down for it :-)

Yeah life-drawing sessions are definitely a top favourite activity when I have spare time, really helps with composing proper human figures without needing to rely on reference photos.

Nah it's just some regular graphite pencils, I think I went with HB contours / light shading -> 2B general shading and details -> 6B highlights.
