Bring Back Hybrid on weapons for item level < 36

The accessibility needs to be addressed. Bringing back hybrid mod for weapons < ilvl 36 would allow other people able to compete via crafting and at the same time not break the end game.

Anybody disagree?

That's not what's keeping the masses from participating in PvP. The issues run deeper than that.

In order to greater participation, there'd need to be a variance of PvP that is run independent of the economic side of PoE with tiers of gearing & gems available to all who choose to level up.

As long as hitting up the local mirror service for gear or bro-deals are in the mix, PvP will not grow.
If the reason for removing hybrid mods was only because it was insane at high level, then I agree it should be brought back at the lower levels, ilvl 36 or less hybrid mods.

It could help someone enter the scene if he finds a good weapon and all he is missing is a t2 hybrid mod from the master, to compete.

Until I hear a good counter arguement, I am for this change.

I'd wabt it back at any levels, as it always help you to make a decent 1h weapon for HLD as well. Now I don't play a 1H specc, but making something like this fairly cheap would be nice and I'd probably try 1H out too now as of 1.3

It's hard to remember what you have forgotten

Why are police looking for missing people? None of them were missing last time I saw them
+1

When the patch hit and I saw this change all I thought about was LLD. All this change did in my eyes was make the gap bigger on LLD and harder for people to get into it.

I have two legacy hybrid swords and a legacy hybrid bow, and I do feel that it's a little unfair that I had such easy accessibility to create these top tier weapons just because I started lld'ing before it hit the mainstream. Anyone else has to pray for a hybrid regal off a vicious base, it's making entering pvp way more difficult for new players. The difference between a 140 dps sword off poetrade with good rolls and a 185 is really significant.

Edit: Maybe it shouldn't be mega easy for people to be T1, honestly engagement and fun is really the whole goal anyway, so I sorta change my stance on the hybrid mod issue. I kinda liked the old shop poetrade or farm mudflats method of getting a good rare.

If you guys feel going down this road is a good idea, then 20% gems should also be provided along with 6 linked socket chests and 2 handed weapons.

The issue is that people don't want to unload all of their orbs into level 28 gear, then just get smashed to bits because the gear is STILL not good enough. Most feel it's more fun to sink their assets into their PvE exiles.

The bottom line is that the design won't work in it's current form.

LLD should be about an equal opportunity for anyone willing to try it, maybe branching off into skill brackets with player ratings determining earnings. In order to be successful, being an economy expert or orb baron in the PvE part of the game can't be part of the equation.

HLD should be the place where the wealthy can swing their peens forth and clobber. Anything goes.
more accessibility wont hurt the game.

+1 bring back the Vagan and Tora hybrid mods.
I disagree.

If they brought it back they would have to remove the Prismweave recipe (in addition to lowering the hybrid roll). You shouldn't be able to easily craft BiS IPD without rolling any mods.

Personally I like how it is now. Recipe 109% on your item, Aug one of the acceptable suffixes, then hope you hit good hybrid on the Regal -- from there take it to the bench for Elreon, flat, and another suffix. Making the crafting centered around regaling (one measly roll) isn't cost prohibitive. There are too many rares floating around with good IPD%. Being able to bench craft high hybrid/flat phys and get an almost BiS LLD weapon with no currency sink doesn't fit the game model.

PVP accessibility =/= handing out BiS weapons.

Yeah so, 10 people make a weapon and pvp instead of hundreds.
