" This is related to the Ahn’s Heritage shield. If you have 0 endurance charges you get the resistance buff. If you have max endurance charges you get the Onslaught buff. If max=0 then you can get both. So get 2 fragility jewels when you get that shield |
|
" and remember @conheomap, that you will not see those buffs on top of the screen (if u are confuse on that :) ) |
|
So two jewels = -2 and I see another -1 with the shield, then -3. I see that this build doesn't generate endurance charge, so is this how it's supposed to work?
Also whole purpose of this shield is for the resist and onslaught buff? what if I have onslaught with flask already? Do they stack? Thank you. PM me if I win something!

@sourav_pradhan
Thank you! Currently this is my only guide, wouldn't have the time to maintain multiple guides at this level.
@Bendercj
As the others said, you gotta have to recolor it using the 1r option on Vorici Lv8, anything else would be a damage loss compared to simply using a regular Inpulsa.
@neo_child
Either Tempest Shield or slot Cold Snap in there and either Vaal Grace or Vaal Haste in the 4L CwDt setup. The Vaal Aura won't get triggered, but it will benefit from the Increased Duration support in there.
@Dioktis
Start with a decent Stygian Vise and a good Shaped Helmet, enchanted only if you can afford. You really want Fortify on Shield Charge, if you wanna keep the current 2 Abyss Jewel setup then rather go with Command of the Pit and drop Arcane Surge + Inc Duration from Orb of Storms instead. After that, look out for a Lv21 Arc and 6L Inpulsa.
@Kirian42
In this build, I do all DPS checks against Shaper/Guardians with DPS flasks, "Shocked an enemy recently", "Enemy is chilled" and if total shock effect is at 150%, also "Enemy is shocked" active. If you have less than 150% total shock effect, you gotta use the formula posted in the Ascendancy section to calculate your DPS with shock.
Sambar Sceptre is usually pretty close to the 40% damage implicit sceptres, it depends on your total setup which one ends up better. In general it could be said that Sambar Sceptre gives a bit more stability into DPS output in high resistance situations, while the 40% damage implicit sceptres buff Inpulsa explosions. However, a good sceptre with insane stats and a "lower" base will still turn out better than a mediocre sceptre on those high tier bases.
@DukeNyxius
None that I know of. What I always do is write down how much I need of each res, then start with looking for high resistance values on the slots with the least DPS impact, which in our case usually are boots and ring, and then cover the rest with 1-2 mid tier res rolls/mastercrafted res on the remaining slots.
@conheomap
That's correct. Characters have 3 of each charge type by default, we lower this value to 0 so we are always at maximum charges and always have no charges.
Onslaught from Flask and Shield (and other sources) doesn't stack. I didn't go with Silver Flasks for the current build version because in comparison, permanent Onslaught just felt much better offensively and defensively and it opens up a valuable Flask slot. twitch.tv/enkivt

Just wanted to post a 'thanks for the guide' Enki. Played as my first toon back on the game since about 2 years ago - and started delve atleast a month into it. Was easy to level (great levelling guide BTW!) and as you get currency pretty easy to see where to apply upgrades. Seemed to grow nicely with every gear addition too! Overall has been great fun to play and tempted to use it again for 3.5 league start :)
Most upgrades I can get now though are a lot of currency for small gain sadly. Lv21 arc was a nice boost though! Maybe I am just bad at the game (!!!) but is there anything I could do to improve survivability? For example I did defeat Elder, but I died like 4 times in the first phase, he kept freezing me in spot and doing some slam onto me that was instadeath :( Might just be learning the fight more. Great job tho and thanks again! |

Ok so it is official I like this build.
Now mind you I played this 2 times on Xbox both SSF and I am only level 46 at this time. But I think this will be my league starter for next league. Hell, I might even dust off my computer and get PoE going on there. I want to do this in Betrayal as I am hoping Storm Brand can easily be incorporated into the build over Orb of Storms. (We shall see, maybe the build would be a staff and body for 2, 6 links) I did some silly things in trying to get a good weapon and spirit shield (but let's not focus on that part) lesson learned for SSF I did First Lab with Lifesprig and a level 2 spirit shield (it had +17% Lighting Damage on it, and nothing I found after that was any good. Got to act 4 and upgraded my gear (mainly weapon and shield and the spell echo and golem, my damage just took off) I just got Path of Building going on my PC so now I am just a little less noobish. So thanks Enki for a great guide easy to follow instructions and tips for SSF. Also, thank you to the other Exiles helping us newbie's out with all our newbie questions. |

First, just wanted to say loving the build. Handles very well against majority of enemies. Followed the guide for the most part, with little personal touches. Looked at your character to see what changes you might’ve made. Was wandering about the two rings you’re running. The Unset Worm and The shapers ring. Did those rings make a substantial impact to the build and if so how did you get the elder influenced unset worm? P.s I’m playing on xbox

Good Day
I just hit Act 6 I have some questions about Scepters and shields. As I am playing SSF I find that I might be passing up weapons and shields I really should be using. So here goes. 1) We use Arc and that scales off spell damage and gem level (so we do not need to concern ourselves with the physical damage part) We only need to look at the Increased Elemental Damage part (the implicit) 2) Most Scepters give us +% increased Elemental Damage (this is what we want) and only 3 Scepters give Damage penetrates % of elemental resistances (so again we do not need to concern our selves with this part as a main implicit if it rolls in upgrading from normal to magic or rare weapon then it is fine. 3) If I am using a level 41 Crystal Scepter that has 30% Ele DMG, is there a reason I would move to a Blood Scepter level 47 or Royal Scepter level 50, both of these give us only 24% Ele DMG, would I not wait till level 53 to use Abyssal Sceptre as this gives 30% Ele DMG again. (only reason I see going to the other levels is that the rolls on upgrading the normal to a rare item or Identifying a rare, gave us additional spell damage, more lighting damage or more elemental damage compared to the one I am currently using) 4) Shields we should only be using the Spirit Shields as they give us the +% Increased Spell Damage. There are 3 versions (5-10%) (10-15%) (15-20%). Again I can't see moving from a shield that was giving me 17% to a shield that gives me only 13%-15% unless it was giving me better overall stats I need like more life, mana, DMG, resistances. 5) Main damage we are looking for is Spell DMG, Lighting DMG, Elemental DMG, Crit Chance. No need for Crit DMG as Elemental Overload does not allow us to do DMG this way we just need to make sure that we get more crits (or am I ready this node wrong, No Critical Strike Multiplier) Ok, this is all for now. Sorry for it being a little long and detailed. |

" Best option I have for you is to create a search priority for one of the 3, copy and paste the browser into a new window (it will keep your searched mods), and then switch to the other 2. You will have to have 3 separate windows, but you won’t have to spend the time retreating your search criteria. Keep in mind you can also search “count” which allows you to have several mods searched for but only require some of them to be on gear (I.e. you like 10 possible mods on your amulet, but only need 2 of them, very good for high budget watcher’s eye searches). When trying to balance resistances, I find it is very helpful to have 1 that is balanced through crafting. Implicit modifiers also are relatively cheap to roll. You can reroll explicits, but that is much more expensive and a more narrow window. " 1) Yes 2 and 3) Damage is always relative to your build. If you don’t want to spend currency seeing the effectiveness of new gear, go to PoB (path of building), import your character data, and switch out weapons (you can create the ideal stats of the new one). However, while leveling, especially in SSF, just go with whatever is best at the moment. You will quickly outscale anything you pick up, and you can’t count on any ideal leveling items to drop. 4) Again, go with whatever is best at the moment. Survivability is often more important than a little more damage. 5) Ignore crit chance. All you need to do is crit once every 8 seconds. I don’t remember how often this is while leveling, but all it takes is 2.5 casts/second for Arc to average 1 crit per 8 second duration, and that being without OoS being active. Hm, looking for a replacement for Skullhead for quite some time without paying 10+ ex. Crafted this thing, not sure how effective the shock effect actually is. Worth the missing Resistances and low life? It will hold the Orb of Storms setup. Any thoughts from more experienced people? Thanks for taking the time :)
(And I know, wrong enchantment, was my only "Lab Enchant" fossil I had) |
