Enki's Arc Witch Memorial Page

Why is he ascending to Necromancer instead of Elementalist?
I am doing lot of lightning damage right now and ascending to elementalist would grant me lot of more damage.
Also, I don't see this build ass a Necromancer one. But summoning the Lighting Golem would grant also another golem + more lightning damage.

Thanks.

Hey there. I've been playing your build this season, and while I don't have any questions, I really wanted to chime in-

I think the build is fantastic. I'm level 85, and the only trouble I'm having is the trouble where the game doesn't seem to want to drop me high enough tier maps. I've done a couple of tier 10s, but haven't had anything higher drop yet. I'll leave it to Whaitiri to explain what questions people have, of course, but it seems most issues with this build people have could be solved with better play/improvements to their own build.
Few questions if I may:

1. Is this build viable for pure endgame content like guardians/shaper?
2. Is single target setup strong enough to melt bosses or is it just "a little faster than arc itself"? Ofc I'm talking about scaled character, not fresh 68 lvl 5 link guy.
3. Any videos showing build in action incoming?

Thanks in advance for answers ;]
@Thuwe: Thanks, i'll add that to the leveling section!

@nastypirate: Alright i'll try to keep it short:

1. Seems like you just keep channeling Storm Burst, instead of sending out small bursts and getting the overlapping explosions on bosses. That's where the damage comes from.

2. Well Arc is our clearing skill.

3. This is actually a good point, but it's still better than putting them on CwDt or reserving all mana. There's also always the option to go with Kitava's Thirst.

4. Desecrate.

With all respect, but it seems that it's not the build that caused your issues.

@Newbell: Check page 292, around halfway down you can find a comparison of Necro vs. Elementalist.

@omniarcan: Thanks alot, and yeah, i'm used to it already.

@Xenhil: 1. I've killed Hydra so far, don't have any of the other maps to test right now.
It's not the fastest and safest Guardian farmer, but it's possible if you can handle the build and are well geared. Shaper however, damage wise it should work but you probably need to be very good at popping the vortex balls in a favorable place.

2. It's noticeably higher, but the boss life buff is also noticeable. That said, it wasn't an issue with any red map boss i have tried so far.

3. Yeah, once my new computer has arrived. I'm currently playing with sub 10 fps, and it's even lower when recording so nobody would want to watch that.

Thank you for the update on the guide.

I've switched from Storm Burst to Lightning Tendrils for the moment to see how that goes. It's only on a 5L still so far but from what I've noticed the choice between them really rests on the play-style you prefer, as you've mentioned yourself. If you can basically facetank the boss, Lightning Tendrils feels better, but sometimes it's better to use hit and run tactics and in that situation Storm Burst seems preferable.

Overall, things are going well. And while yes, sometimes bosses might feel they take longer then they should, but I think that's mostly because of the buffed HP they've gotten in 3.0 as opposed to a problem with this build. I'm not having too many survivability problems so far. It's mostly been just me rushing things and being reckless.

One thing I got a little laugh at was that a few hours after I'd bought my 153% spell damage Pledge of Hands, another one dropped for me with the exact same roll... Oh well.
Does southbound gloves + writhing jar + arc still do large boss damage?
Hey man, thank you for this amazing build. Just started the game a week ago and kill Kitava tonight. It's really fun, though bosses can be tough :)

A few questions for you if you don't mind:

- Here I am lv 67, killed Kitava but haven't cleared cruel Labyrinth yet (forgot to, and now i'm sitting with the merciless debuff), I've managed to clear a lvl1 map so far though it took me some effort. Where do you think I could farm a little bit of stuff to clear cruel Lab and get rolling?

- as for Desecrate into Offering. I suppose the trick is to cast Desec x3 so we get a long Offering buff? If I just cast it once, I find myself struggle to keep the buff on bosses, especially when they are chasing me and i'm always kiting and hit&running. What's the general man against a boss when you're undergeared?

- I only have a dozen of Chaos orb. Now that I've fnished act 10 and unveiled everything, it seems really overwhelming... So same question as 1. I guess. Where do you think I should start getting geared?

Thanks so much again, the build is really fun and the guide helped me a lot :)
@tsunny: Going to test after work tomorrow, last time i did i remember the worms didn't really last long enough.

@cencen: I think Blood Aqueduct and Oasis are pretty popular farming spots, but both are Lv61.
If you can handle it, you can probably farm Desecrated Chambers or Ossuary, they should give better exp and potentially good drops. You can also do the chaos recipe, it's a somewhat slow but sure way to gain some extra chaos that will help you gearing.

I recommend cast Desecrate 3x before starting the fight, and then just once when needed.
Decoy Totem can also give you some additional distraction and time to kill or keep buffs up.

Hi there @Enki91

Firstly I wanted to express appreciation for such an active up to date guide.

I also wanted to express appreciation for your continued and active responses to questions and answers by the players.

I have bee playing POE since the initial Steam release and your guide caught my attention in the 2.6 patch when I deiced to try a Witch build.

I stuck mainly with your guide to start with but due to my exploitative nature I tried to make my own build using yours as a template.

So my idea was twofold. Ice and Thunder using Herald of Thunder and some cold gems (Like a Storm Bringer). Secondly using Tempest Shield and Aegis Aurora as my defense skill along with Herald of Thunder which I love as a game mechanic. Since the new Necromancer skill provides additional block chance with Bone Offering I was wondering how viable I could make this build now?

So I was wondering if you could provide some input, no "hand holding" stuff but some general guidance from an experience player would be great.

Here is my passive tree from 2.6:

And here are my items and gems (Bhuvanishvari):

Any input whatsoever will be greatly appreciated. This is a"themed" build and it did get me to T4 before I swithed it to a (yawn) CI build. (I lost the link for that and I would rather not run that "cheese" build if I can avoid it.)

All the best and congrats on a great guide, which I will be using in the mean time to explore the Fall of Oriath Harbinger league.

*Edit*

The idea was to shock the enemy enough so that the extra damage would be enough to cause the chill / freeze effect, added to the temporal chains effect. It kinda worked, even up to T4 but I am not familiar enough with the mechanics to tweak it to an optimal state. Block / Blind / Chill / Freeze and Slow were the defenses and the damage came from Tendrils / Arc, as well as the Shock / Freeze / Chill, effects.

Haven't played arc since patch 1.something, leveling on hc harbinger and really enjoying it so far with only one gripe.

I have miserable time with Bone Offering upkeep on boss fights. While I'm pretty used to manually casting desecrate + offering from summoner builds, it feels really disruptive and dangerous without minions to distract boss (decoy totem is not the greatest at this).
Tried Kitava's Thirst, but it seems too early (level 50) to reliably proc through arc due to cast speed. I assume it will change once I'm able to equip 5L+ Pledge of Hands, but it's still pretty annoying part of character progression and takes from otherwise enjoyable experience.

I noticed that Storm Burst requires both 6-link and Fevered Mind jewel to trigger skills from Kitava's. Since it only counts mana cost from initial cast and jewel swapping for bosses seems a bit troublesome, I assume we still use Arc on boss for curses and offering upkeep?

Build feels great so far. Guide is also very commendable, looks polished and pretty detailed for new players, I'm sure it's appreciated.
Thank you for the build, good job on the guide and keeping it up to date.

Cheers.
