what skills for duel wield duelist?

I'm still on normal difficulty, but I can attest to the cleave with life on hit being very beneficial. I am also going to try something a bit different (don't know if it'll work yet). I am working on getting a 2nd life on hit gem and using it with the knockback/damaging aoe totem. I think combining these 2 moves with a significant life on hit will be very beneficial. Has anyone tried this yet?

I myself am only level 43 in cruel act 2, but i've been having a very easy time, the only difficulty is the mass amount of casters who I cant evade, gets tricky to position the totem in such a way that they wont shoot me, yet I can kill them.

the only difficulty i've had is lighting users who can spam their high damage. though with good totem positioning, its not too difficult. just gotta keep rememeber which key is which :P

as for drmarc, I do believe that you cant use life on hit with shockwave totem, and if it does work, I believe the life will go to the totem, unless that is your intention.

DarkenDragon thanks for the feedback. That's exactly what I want to try and do - to keep the totem up a bit longer to draw attention from the mobs. I will test it out when I get home and post when I have results. I have a feeling it's like you said though - probably does not work or someone would have posted it in their build by now.

What about lifesteal? I am currently using life on hit like all of you but what about the cousin to this gem. Is it meant for end game because it uses a percentage instead of amount?

Does it stack? can you put lifesteal and life on hit and get god mode?

I haven't tried this, but according to the mechanics thread you can link lifesteal and life on hit with a skill without penalty. The only thing you can't do is link 2 of the same gem (2 life on hit) with a single skill - it will take the higher level between the 2 and count that only.

you can use life leech and life on hit, though it does become tediuous and waste of a gem slot that could have been for higher damage.

life on hit is meant for low damage multi hit abilities, while life leech is for hard hitting abilities. also the fact that you have the 20% of max hp per second cap reduce the amount of life you can steal though life on hit does not have that restriction.
