Races Start Tomorrow and Lots of PvP Updates

A very hot topic right now in PvP is Cast on Death - it's absolutely dominating FFA events. Tomorrow's 1.3.0g patch addresses it with a pretty brutal PvP damage adjustment. However, it'll still be possible for CoD characters to take out groups of low-life opponents if they build around it and pick the right times to detonate themselves.

Our prize awarding for PvP has had some teething problems that have now been resolved. It should work smoothly from this point out. Players will have received their Season Reward Points for PvP events that have run so far.

The Swiss events award sponsored prizes to the top 16 players. We'll be receiving those prizes to send out in the near future, but in the meantime you can see your eligibility by looking at your ladder rank in one of those events. The prizes are distributed as follows:
  • 1st place: $75 Karma Koin and Razer Gaming Hardware ($80+)
  • 2nd place: $60 Karma Koin
  • 3rd-4th place: $30 Karma Koin
  • 5th-8th place: $20 Karma Koin
  • 9th-16th place: $10 Karma Koin

Due to their success in Swiss events, the following players have earned a spot in the Invitational at the end of the season:
  • lapiz
  • Lordsidro
  • Johnny_Annihilation
  • SirEdwards

We've clarified how tiebreakers work in our PvP Rules article (at the bottom). Because this was previously unclear, players who came second but tied for first place with tiebreakers identical to the winner in today's Swiss events have been awarded a Talisman of the Victor also. In the future we plan to improve the resistance calculation so that it includes all matches in the tournament rather than matches that have occurred so far. This improvement should solve the problem entirely.

There was a bug in 1.3.0 that caused some Guild Stash Tabs to become inaccessible if they contained an Unset Ring. This has been fixed today.

Today's post discussed a lot of bugs that we don't normally focus on in the news, but we feel it's very important to have transparency about important topics and their solutions.

By the way, two of our favourite PvP builds this season will be given some Razer Gaming Hardware like the winners of our other events. We'll highlight those two builds in Build of the Week episodes (as well as showcasing normal PvE builds, of course). Please submit any PvP builds or guides to the class forums if you're happy with other players seeing how they work!

Over the next couple of weeks, patches will come a little slower because we're running a skeleton crew over Christmas (Chatters has an important role). Our team have worked very hard this year so I'm encouraging them to take some time off. Don't worry though, I'll be around <3

brb crying myself to sleep for the fact that I will never be able to get that sick alt art Alpha's...

:(
Great that you're fixing Cast on Death for FFA. But one bug that is overlooked is the fact that if you kill someone in swiss or any other 1v1 with cast on death, the match is a draw. This was not the case earlier and it should be fixed.
