OMG I want cross-league PvP so badly now
if it takes an hour to get in a 1v1 on bloodlines, cross league matches seem more appealing. At first I was against it, but seeing that nobody on bloodlines plays makes me feel I have to go play standard if I want to get into PvP. I'd hate to play anything in legacy leagues, it would be cool if they did a cross league between new leagues and old leagues, separately. not all of the leagues crossing.

I think GGG should have seen that coming. There is no reason to introduce a seperate pvp league when there is nothing special about that league. I mean hardcore is about the risk to die - you don't have that in pvp, so what's left? Only the gear limitation which amplifies the problem of "rich" people winning because of better gear.
I was recently thinking about making an HC LLD char, then i realized that not only is it more expensive (you get less hc currency for your sc currency here on the forum through cross league trading), it's also harder to get even common stuff since the trade channels seem to be completly empty. If you message someone who has posted stuff on poe.trade you often hear something like "Sorry not trading, playing bloodlines" now. Hc seems almost to be a ghost league, unlike Standard, where there are many traders, but also a lot of casuals. There's just no point in investing so much more hours into getting your gear, when you could just do the exact same thing on standard with less effort. It's hard enough to get corrupted items anyway, and they seem to be mandatory with the current balancing. And when you look at the number of players that are ranked at the moment, it looks pretty dark for hc, I mean there aren't even 20 people who have completed a match on EU-HC 1v1 Open. In LLD it's 129 chars, but I'm sure there are some accounts with multiple chars in it, like it is the case in standard LLD currently. But i guess it's to late now. It took GGG over 1 year after there decision to come up with those tournaments, i don't think they will be able to change anything about that system currently, we will just have to wait and see. I think it's funny though that they decided to start the events with the clearly underpopulated hc pvp. I think it would have been better to start off with the standard version, so everyone can participate. |
