Am i the only one who thinks that all announced gems are actually badly designed?
New wand skill - wanders are crap unless you can afford mirror service, noone even care what does that skill do Bow decoy skills - seems totally useless. Melee Lightning aoe skill - when i hear things like this nothing but "inevitable death to reflect" comes in mind. We already have infernal blow and it's even safer, tyvm. Melee trigger on block/hit skills - totally useless, even as a melee 90% monsters are normally killed without a chance to hit once. And we already have vaal molten shell. Physical to lightning - its just retarded. Who in the hell would convert physical to lightning? Could have been useful as a support for LA but LA is totally bad compared TS or IS. | |
" well I presume if you link them with blind or knockback or stun or loh/leech etc then they can be used defensively, curse on hit blah blah. Effectively curse on block with chance to blind? it could be cool, I dunno, have to see. |

" Yeah, it's looking either like a proc or a skill that, when activated, will attempt to block and only sometimes go on to attack. Dreading these skills but certainly going to try them. I really dislike random missing. It sucks all the enjoyment out of the game for me so I avoid characters with low accuracy (95% or less). Block chance tends to be pretty low so good chance these skills are going to frustrate the hell out of me if I have to activate them myself and annoy me by taking control away from me if they proc. Let's see... So we have two block counter gems but nothing 2-handed specific? I was really hoping these gems would be the buff to 2-handed builds but I guess not...
Otherwise these gems are exactly what I though they would be. I'm not sure what revolutionary ideas others had for them, but this is really the most obvious way to implement counter gems. Not super exciting, but I wouldn't call them useless before trying. What worries me most is how many support gems they need to be useful? Most of my 2-handed builds don't have any extra links free, because usually I need a single-target skill, aoe skill, aura setup and two cwdt setups, which already fill every gear slots. |

I've been wanting to incorporate shock into my pure phys builds for the longest time but there just hasn't been a good way to scale it with physical damage, not like with fire from Added Fire Damage and Herald of ash, or cold from Hatred, or even chaos from Ming's.
