[2.0] SuperNova - whole screen 137K DPS Ice Nova | Atziri ez GGG featured
So I decided to do this build on the new tempest league for some reason.
I'm lvl 66 at the moment and pretty much oneshotting everything I lightning warp onto (only item missing currently is PoH and carcass but I most likely will get a 600+ es body armor instead for more survivibility). The problem is with no armor is sometimes I take insaaaaane amounts of damage, in your videos you almost never get hit. It doesn't work for me for some reason.. Casting warlords mark/assassins mark (might change for enfeeble). Any ideas what I can do for 2.0 to make it more HC viable? I got the crit nodes already so it's bit too late to not go crit, already roughly 65% critchance with power charges up. What about ghost reaver with discipline instead of HoT? I think I should be able to get 3k+ hp/3k+ es at lvl 80+ if I survive that long Last edited by ImoK#4843 on Jul 17, 2015, 8:19:37 AM

I have 3.3k hp at lvl 82 (I'm still missing quiet some hp nodes so I could prolly get 4k hp) and not a lot of chaos resistance.
Just died because I teleported into a group of dangerous mobs, wanted to Ice Nova. But while teleporting in it I got cursed by that curse that prevents all spell csting :P. That one kinda kills you fast unless you alt+f4. Also indeed because of no armor, I died in a map with damage mod against one of those big mobs with critical totem + extra damage + damage aura... One hit, failed evasion roll. Enemies with the bearer-mod still insta me, as do lighting totems (not the teleporting ones). Getting the acrobatics-tree will help a LOT but you may still get insta-ed sometimes. Died testing out a 13% ele reflect map mod with vaal, lifeleech gem, ~40k dps but no phase acrobatics, 75% res. I died on the first pack i warped into on the first cast lol. Insta. Also even a tiny lagspike can get you killed when you teleport into a group of enemies with chaos damage + map mods. If you lag just after teleporting in, you're dead after the lag ends. Only needs to be 1-2 seconds of a screen-freeze. Turning off lockstep might help though. I teleport into a pack of mobs, I get stunned at the same moment I arrive so I got a tiny cast delay. I often get out alive by panick-clicking potions. But it's still risky. Stuns can also cancel your teleport in case you want to quickly get out because of a monster-mod that will soon kill you (poison clouds+fire patch, mines, etc). I know I shouldn't get stunned but sometimes a beyond mob, exile that jumps on me or a heavy ranged mob may just stun me at the wrong time. 3k hp, no armor, is a glass cannon for a build that teleports into packs of mobs. The freeze-effect+fast killing will save you 99% of the time, but that other 1% will eventually get you. Just run enough maps imo and you will die. Imo this build is always risky no matter what because of the 'face-hugging' of large groups of enemies. No matter how much hp you build. But in softcore, that 1% doesn't matter. thanks for your reply
also you took vaal pact but what is the source of this leech ? the gem ? or ? |
|
- lifeleech gem in weapon (optional)
- warlords mark (curse) <--- heals the most for me. - atziri's flask (easy to keep the flask up on regular mobs, not reliable vs map-bosses obviously) - Potions that instantly heal you. <--- my life savers. However, the lifeleech gem is hardly worth it imo, if at all. I tested some with and without it. Even with vaal pact, the amount of hp (at ~30-40k dps without charges) will not even closely be enough to heal you back up fast when you need it. Basically, insta-heal-potions are the best way to stay healthy imo. Most map bosses should be kited or killed from a tiny distance. You can do this with ice nova or you can switch out the gem for a stronger singletarget one but I don't recommend going up and close. Quiet some map-bosses kill you in 2 hits with non-crits. And some bosses like the one from the crematorium, will just outright kill you unless you swap a lot of gear/pots for it. Atleast that's the case for me at lvl82. I know the OP can somehow solo all of it without any problems. I still regularly run into problems. Last edited by silverdash#0964 on Jul 17, 2015, 11:33:18 AM

This build looks amazing! I'm a noob level 72 and not very rich (3ex?). I realize that this build is a little gear dependent and I have no illusions of achieving those results with my current items, but would it be a viable approach to leveling through the DOM/act 4 merciless content with this gear or should I look elsewhere till I get better items?
Thanks! Last edited by Archangel1337#4568 on Jul 17, 2015, 2:13:37 PM

I would not recommend this build to a beginner. The survivability of this build is subpar (no armor, medium life, must stand in middle of pack, nearly useless against curse resist, nearly useless in party, etc) and of course the cost of end-game items...
It's a fun build that feels similar to Kripp's discharge of 3-4 leagues ago but its not going to work well for everyone. |

" really?! i thought i was super tanky?!?! he wrote in the guide that it is tanky and hard to die?!? doesnt he has like 75% change to dodge melee+spell!?!? can anyone confirm if this build if good for lategame mapping? i was going to make it my main thsi league, but if u tell me its not that good and squishy I will reconsider!! It's really tanky but you still die in 1 shot when stuff gets through all of your defenses.

" crit is crazy to play HC. First nemesis reflect pack you lightning warp on top of - forget to flask - hit on highest side of lightning warp - and crit you will die. HC tree is in OP its non crit. Also Id use Granite flasks. Your hybrid idea is fine and maybe even take mom too and forget acro. Git R Dun! Last edited by Aim_Deep#3474 on Jul 17, 2015, 5:50:23 PM

" You have medium life I have 4500 and 600 ES. I cant die in maps less than 79. Dont know about higher have not found any yet. There are ppl 100 w/ this build. They didnt get ther by dying tho. Build does all map mods. Cost is medium /low 10ex for 5L PoH set Ima say its a learn to play/spec issue you have 3200? I always had at least 4500 life in merc. I Just wont take DPS until survival is sorted. I originally wore Kaoms boots in this build for 140 life and took whole life wheel (read first page for evidence ppl comment on it) Get your EHP sorted man - Hell pop every flask lightning/fire/cold and granite every pack you warp into if you need to. Surgeons recharge fast enough to do it every pack with crit. Git R Dun! Last edited by Aim_Deep#3474 on Jul 17, 2015, 6:12:10 PM
