1.2.4 Patch Notes and Deployment Timeline
" Meet the real Bringer of Rain: Rob McKenna was a miserable bastard and he knew it ... .. It wasn't that he was naturally predisposed to be so surly, at least he hoped not. It was just the rain that got him down, always the rain. .. .. It was raining now, just for a change... It was a particular type of rain that he particularly disliked, particularly when he was driving. He had a number for it. It was rain type 17... He had read somewhere that the Eskimos had over two hundred different words for snow..... .Rob McKenna had two hundred and thirty-one different types of rain entered in his little book, and he didn't like any of them. excerpted from So Long and Thanks for All the Fish. For those who haven't read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series, you are in for a wonderful ride. Oops forgot the important bit:
Spoiler
And as he drove on, the rain clouds dragged down the sky after him for, though he did not know it, Rob McKenna was a Rain God. All he knew was that his working days were miserable and he had a succession of lousy holidays. All the clouds knew was that they loved him and wanted to be near him, to cherish him and to water him.

" GGG should sell a bare spike MTX, and let you pick which monsters you've killed to spear onto it. They could use the default monster corpse graphics. Bosses, like Piety would require the extra large spike. Alternatively, PvP players could choose to impale copies of the characters they've defeated. Visitors that hovered over the spiked corpse would see the name of the defeated character. PoE Origins - Piety's story http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2081910

How nice and thoughtful of GGG:
They added a poll in the patch. It is a very simple task for us players: DO NOT BUY RAIN. If nobody buys it (for obvious reasons), they might eventually stop slapping it on every tileset we have. I mean, is there still sunshine in Wraeclast? /sarcasm But some truth is in it: If they see that people don't like rain, they might be willing to do something about it. |

The Dome already exists....if you don't know where you need to play the game a couple more times through. Besides, it seems arbitrary to say 'it already exists' -- they still put in the effort to make it initially and then optimize it for use in hideouts. There is nothing more optional than buying decorations for your hideout... and it is a great way to generate income for GGG while giving the player base something they have been specifically asking for.
On another note...what kind of potato are you playing on that rain=longer load times? Go buy and SSD for like 50-80$ and enter the 21st century. Can't post 'marketing links' but i'm sure you know where to buy stuff off the internet. |

If you want to boost hideouts, you may consider handing out trophies or banners for the hideouts that you selected as "hideout of the week" or /and establish other events involving the decoration of hideouts.
This would help to establish this new part of the game and reward the players who simply want to make the game nicer and give it a personal touch. Grim~ p.s. -Same goes for the build of the week. -Please reduce the favour costs of the decorations! " I hope the rain in hideouts is a clever troll by GGG: Maybe they improved the performance of rain such that this is now no problem and are laughing their asses off about people currently complaining about this MTX :) May your maps be bountiful, exile
