PoE Shops Indexer — search for items with ease

Wow, since the last time I went to that site there have been a lot of improvements!

I want to know if it's possible to add these features:
1) When selecting an item, show whether the user is currently online
2) If the user isn't online, show when he was last online

1) It already works like this (online as in "has a char on ladder and is currently playing on it").
2) This is actually a good suggestion but I'm afraid it'll confuse users (it's only possible to fetch online status of people who are on ladder). Imagine such situation: a guy dies in HC and disappears from the ladder. Then, even though he's always online and is leveling a new char the script reports him as offline (last seen online XX days ago) which is not only incorrect but also probably will play against him (compared to people who aren't even on ladder and therefore has no online data associated with them).

About (2), I think it would be done for items that were shown in old threads. If it was an old thread, maybe the user just stopped playing since the time he posted that trading thread (where the wanted to sell the item you want). It'd be nice to quickly glance when the user was last online, so you can know if you should pursue the trade (if the guy will respond soon), or not (if maybe the guy quit the game and will never respond you back).

There's a "Last seen" feature (don't confuse it with "last seen online" I talked about in the previous paragraph). By default it's set to a week ago, that is, only people who either posted something on forums, logged in or edited some post within the last week will appear on search results.

Also, could it be that when you select the "Tiles" option, the IGN of the user disappears?

Yeah, this indeed is a bug and will be fixed.

Oh and another thing....I'm sure it'll be almost impossible to do, or maybe against POE's TOS, but is it possible to have the item tooltip POE has? :P
As in, when you hover over an item in the list you searched for, show the tooltip you normally see when hovering over items posted in the POE forum/game.
I mean, that tooltip is made with html+css, and the data is gotten either via javascript or ajax. Technically, you could recreate the same exact tooltip couldn't you? :P

I don't really understand why do you want it (care to elaborate a bit?) and it'll take a lot of effort which I'd rather spend on implementing some other new cool features.

May be add "Last edited" filter also? Many threads got bumped on "last seen" even if they actually dead for months.

I'm not sure about that. We're talking about people, not threads. How can a thread be dead? If items are still verified then seller still wants to sell them, isn't that right?
Sorry if my suggestions/questions were already posted, I sadly don't have the time at work to read through all 66 pages. Maybe you could extend the Q/A in your first post with online/offline behaviour and other higly redundant questions. Maybe even add some examples for idiots like me ;) or planned features/changes.

IMO the "last seen" mechanic should prioritize the shop thread itself (idk how difficult it is implementing to read the last edited date, which additionally doesn't exist on new threads). It would force the seller to regularly (maybe once per week) update his thread. I often find nice items I want to buy, but after checking that a lot of these threads were updated several months ago I don't even try to contact the seller.

I don't fully understand the verify feature. Does a successful verification mean that the player still has this item or does it only mean he had it at the time he posted it?

Also I read earlier this day that you only see the IGN if he is on the ladder and currently online, is this correct? So either I was very unlucky on my overall 4 attempts ("/whois IGN" always said the player is currently offline) or there is a (known?) delay?
//Edit: Nevermind, I think I forgot to set the switch to "Online only", sorry :-/

But nonetheless a very nice tool you've created here, thanks! :)

Why? The item is still here and the seller is somewhat active, why don't you even try to get in touch?

Yes, it means the item is still here in player's inventory or stash.

There indeed is some delay. But actually you shouldn't use /whois, just try to whisper this IGN. In the past I've found out that /whois is quite unreliable, i.e. when you're in town it reported you as being offline (not sure why, not sure if they fixed it or if that even is a bug).

I didn't knew about the verification mechanic (started about a week ago). Thanks for the info. (Maybe this is also worth mentioning in your Q/A, especially useful for new players :) )

I am also having the problem of poexyz showing my items for sale as a random IGN I created many months ago. Effectively showing me as offline, when I'm online with my latest character. My current character is also not yet high enough level to be visible on the ladder.

Hi, I don't see any problen here, can you clarify a bit? If your character is not on ladder then the only way to get IGN is from your profile. Since there's no difference in that case (PoE will correctly forward messages if you're online) it just chooses the first name it sees.

Hi xyz,

To clarify, it's a problem because poexyz shows this old character as offline, when I am indeed online with my newer active character (which poexyz doesn't list as my IGN).

The wrong name does indeed forward, but this still makes my listings show up "offline". Which means no sales :(

What's your character name? Are you on the ladder?
This website is the only way trading is somewhat manageable in this game. GGG should throw money at xyz for his efforts. Keep up the good work!

hello
-second yep, i got the problem, when i do some research of my own items in nemesis (hc) mode it return the name of the first character on my account characters list (beginning with a ____) because my previous character is dead.
what you can do is maybe to add TAG(s) from the character(s) name(s) to contact like

~@Bracae

This is unlikely to happen because it'll require additional request to PoE forums to retrieve the list of all IGNs.

What's the problem with displaying not the name you want?
