[2.5] Tempada's Dreamfeather Lightning Flurry Raider: Acro, Alpha's/Blood Dance/QotF, 200k+ DPS
Hi, I'm torn between this guide or doing a flask low life blade vortex build. I've been doing blade vortex builds in the past due to the clear speed and the low downtime. How does this build compare to the clear speed and damage to a lowlife blade vortex build? I really want to try something new but don't want to remake back to blade vortex because of slow clear speeds.

" Hey, I know we chatted in game, but I thought I'd answer on the thread. Blade Vortex is better. More raw power, especially as low life, and easier to level. On the other hand, Dreamfeather, with some investment (far less than what you'd need for low life), is really good by late game (late 80s, early 90s). Not farm Uber good, but solid and extremely entertaining. The movement speed is a blast, and doing something worthwhile with melee that isn't Cyclone or Earthquake is refreshing. This build is still the most fun thing I've played in this game. Dreamfeather Elemental Cleave Ranger: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1087616

can this work with cyclone? i want a good character with good movementspeed and phasing for doing 1,2k voll kills and 300 maps from bosses

" Yep, it works with Cyclone, but I don't recommend it. Cyclone on its own (outside of CoC builds) is only good if you can get a ton of AoE (generally with Atziri's Disfavour) or do something with burn prolif. Maybe there's a nice prolif build waiting to be made, but I haven't found it yet. With that said, you can get some serious damage with Elemental Focus (I got over 200k Cyclone tooltip dps with one Cyclone setup), it's just that the clear speed probably still won't be as good as Lightning Strike or Cleave. " yeah i dont really want the build to fullclear maps or anything like that it's my 2nd character this league just to finish up the endgame grinds, like finding shrines and killing map bosses for map drops and farming dried lake this is why i thought cyclone would be nice because i dont have to stop for anything really and just go full sonic with vaalhaste and high movementspeed from queen and blood dance im leveling the character right now, i have to see when im lvl 70+ how it works with cyclone really |

" Did you start as Shadow so you can get Walk the Aether as Trickster? Or are you going Raider? If you're doing Raider, you'll want Dreamfeather + Soul Taker for mana sustain. Although I've swapped in Cyclone with the regular build and it works well enough, I'd recommend something more like this so you can get more AoE: Dreamfeather Elemental Cleave Ranger: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1087616 Last edited by Tempada#2630 on Jun 22, 2016, 5:34:04 PM

Over time I've made 4 or 5 iterations of this build. In my opinion Wild Strike is the superior choice.
Mana isn't an issue with dual Dreamfeathers thanks to the duelist leech nodes (or ranger). I don't recommend Cyclone either, the clear speed isn't on par with the other skills. Wild Strike onthe other hand clears insanely fast thanks to the chaining part D2 4ever ;) Since 2011 Last edited by MrPom#2304 on Jun 24, 2016, 5:44:01 AM

" Really? I can't stand that you need to be touching an enemy for it to work (reminds me of Static Strike, which I hate) as opposed to being able to hit around or in front of you like with Cleave, Lightning Strike, or Lacerate. I haven't felt like clear speeds are better with it, but it's certainly a usable skill! Dreamfeather Elemental Cleave Ranger: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1087616

Is it possible to make a physical + attack speed oriented variant of this build.

" Sort of. Phys damage doesn't scale so well with Dreamfeather, but you can do something that scales a bit of physical and focuses more on poison and chaos damage: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1646037.
