2.3 Fakener (budget fake Mjölner) build - Trickster Version
Hi everyone,
I just love this build, although it's squishy, hard to play sometimes and inconsistent in different map mods, obviously not a "universal" build. But I love how "advanced" it is and how it rips through packs and bosses when you know what you're doing. And the way you charge into those packs and they just explode... it's awesome! Thanks, Mathill!
A few quick questions for all Fakelovers:
1) I got myself accuracy and crit strike nodes frrom Eagle eye cluster (near Vall pact) and now have 90% chance to hit at lvl 82. Of course, I had to get rid of something (Ondar's, notably). Are those points in accuracy worth it? I feel ok right now, but maybe it's just countereffective? I have 85% chance to hit withought them with accuracy on gloves, amulet and both rings (250+ on all).
2) What's better - this?
Or an 1.6 Aps Vagan's dagger withought spell damage, around 8.5 CC?
It would be nice not to worry about accuracy, I'd free up 4 points in the tree and would get myself some +attack speed gloves and rings... Is it worth it?

It all depend on your gear.
Accuracy is a suffix for all items (for rings can take up to 2 slots), so if you loose it from gear that mean you have room for 1 or 2 more suffix on gear.
for example, IIR, IAS, ress, crit chance and crit multi for amulet.
so its nice.
on the other hand if you are capped on all your ress, and you have good enough gear, for example rings and gloves with IAS+Accuracy, crit chance and crit multi for amulets. so there is no point in settling on a vagan's dagger instead of using a good normal dagger.
anyway for dps the formula is like this.
we are interested in crit chance because this is where our dps comes from. so we check what is our chance to crit per second
* Chance to hit = CtH
* Crit chance = CH
* Attacks per second = APS
the formula is : CtH * CH * APS (this will tell us how many attacks will crit per second)
this way you can compare Vagan's dagger with fast hitting one. just compare the 2 numbers and the higher one is a batter one.

Is this really true? Doesen't crit roll twice against hit chance?
it does
With 90% chance to hit with a fast dagger (i'm using mine as an example) using Vagan's dagger is pointless, correct? The value is always lower, even with the fastest APS nmod Vagan's can get (it's 15%, right?).
But if crit is rolled twice... I have to add another figure: Chance to hit * Crit chance * APS *CHANCE TO HIT (another roll for crits)... This way Vagan's dagger with nice rolls is almost the same.
And it would free up 4 points and a lot of affixes on gear... Makes sense.

Sorry for that mistake, (never do math when you tiered)
you need to roll chance to hit on crit as well, it means to roll it twice.
the formula needs to be CtH*CtH*CH*APS.

well it depends on the dagger you can get, if you can get a godly rare dagger, then vagan dagger cant compare to it.
dont forget vagan's items dont get to ilvl 73 so it means no T1 crit chance rolls, no T1 spell damage rolls, no T1 crit multi roll, no T1 IAPS roll etc...
if you can top your ress with accuracy on gear and get to 90% accuracy then i think it is batter to use none vagan dagger.

compare non vagan mirrrored vs mirrored vagan. vagan wins.
also able to run CC+EVA% on the rings > shitty accu rolls which costs u with decent other stats like 20+ex per ring

I'm sorry if this has already been addressed but I don't have time to go thru the 80 odd pages.
I don't have much exp. w/this type of build, I've only extensively played incinerators and summoners (non crit builds).
Why doesn't the vaal pact kill you? I am trying to respec a shadow to this build and he is only 54.
