[3.10] Sovyn's Lazy Pally - Tanky Templar with Max Block

Well, i dont want to make spam, but since the point of this thread is to help people to make this build, here i go:

Hi Sovyn, just wanted to let ya know how things went over the weekend (I get really bored at work).

My HC lazy pally died. Not heartbroken, I expected it to happen. The only stupid part, is that I died to traps, in the labyrinth. I should've played through the mechanics of it in standard first but alas, making my first character HC was an accident anyway. The only disappointing part, is that he died to a trap around level 46 and he was so solid that monsters couldn't touch him. Hit a blade trap, got scared, ran into a spinning spike pillar trap. RIP.

Anyway, I made a new lazy pally in the standard perandus league. I would've kept the original, but I really rather be in the new league than the old standard. I think. Honestly don't know the different. FWIW, I already surpassed the first attempt and made it to level 50.

This dropped off one of the first "bosses", it may have even been the guy on the beach when I was level 1. It is a ridiculous item for this class, well.. at least it is for me. It really helps me get my feet planted, especially with perandus mobs.



I had also found these that helped me level fast, but I'm trying to replace them now.



They helped me level extremely fast but they seem out dated. My gear doesn't seem as solid as it did with the HC character, but maybe I just took my time with that one. I can feel myself hitting that point where I start to drag again, so it might be time for me to read up some more. I know I still need to get that hatred aura (can't seem to find it) and I'm still looking for a 5L chest.

Since no one is playing standard right now they are expensive as there are few available. They are very cheap in perandus (1 alchemy or something) and once Perandus ends all those cheap jewels will be on standard so that's when you can get one. No rush it's just a little enhancement, not required.

Full armour is fine as more armour means more ES regained from Aegis so that's a benefit, I'm sure it's cheaper than great hybrid gear. You will get a bunch of ES just from Aegis due to defense from equipped shield nodes and a dab from rainbowstride. With BoR there is not really room for good hybrid armour/ES gear (chest mostly) and we don't take ES nodes anyway so the difference would be minor with ES gear, a few hundred ES at most.

That weapon is 94 pdps so yes it's a bit low. An upgrade would be cheap on poe.trade. Here's some good ones. Hatred gem can be bough by any class except Templar from clarissa in act 3. So if you only have a templar you would need to buy it from someone else, have a friend give it to you or find it as a drop. Sorry I don't play perandus.

A white 5-link chest is usually like 1 chaos but the level requirement of most would be at least 59 I'd imagine. Anyway it is easy to craft life on a white 5-link with a few chaos rolls, probably even get a resist or two.

Thanks buddy.. everything was really great until really just recently. Got a little ahead of myself again. No wonder I couldn't find hatred, I looked forever. Embarrassing. I really, really don't understand crafting yet. Which is fine. I'm still reading every guide I can, I've probably only used a half dozen jeweler orbs and half dozen chromatics which doesn't bother me since I know how to get them. Melee characters seem really hard when it comes to damage. I'm just going to keep plugging away. I've only died maybe 2-3 times so far on this guy, playing a bit more reckless since it's not hc. The only things that kill me are when the perandus chest mobs are blue. Anything else is easy, bosses just take a little longer with yucky damage.

Well I don't think even the spell casting builds can just equip gear at level 1 and use it into endgame. They have to upgrade periodically along the way too.

I did get a seemingly ridiculous item from the Labyrinth..

I also found facebreakers but not quite sure how that works, so I'll just stick with how I'm doing things. It is all working fine, bosses are just slow. That's all. Anyway, don't want to annoy you. I'll report back when I start trying maps. If I make it that far and if I figure out how to do them =)

how are you sustaining on mana? without warlords and the leech, its very hard to keep up mana and life leech. I do not see anything on the tree... halp! im playing self found, atm so this is what I have to work with:
