1.2.1 Patch Notes

Here's my 2 cents on the matter of Master spawning, since i was one of those who farmed them in Tidal Island.

Although i'm obviously not happy with the change becouse farming Tidal Island was a blast for other reasons as well (like getting lvl 60 gear for chaos recipes and map fragments from corrupted instances), i can on the other hand see why it was done. Just as another guy in this thread said, i also foresaw this nerf comming but it still sucks when it hit.

You see, Masters are a carrot & stick thingy that is intended to keep people interested in playing the game longer. If farming Masters becomes too easy, people will become bored sooner and also stop playing sooner. So how do you make this proces last longer? You make the goodies drop more rarely which is what happened in this case.

GGG doesn't hate us or want us to loose interest or hate the game, quite on the contrary actually. It's kind of like a mom with a kid who knows there is a jar with sweets on the top shelf. The kid would ofcourse love to eat all the candy at once, but his mom only gives him 1 or 2 per day. The kid then tries to build a ladder out of furniture to reach the candy on the top shelf and when mom finds out about it, she puts the candy on an even higher shelf to make sure her kid still gets only 1 or 2 sweets per day.

We kids have just found out that after we were trying hard to build a ladder to the candy, mom has put the candy on a higher shelf and we're back to square zero, so we're naturally throwing a tantrum; but after a couple of years, we'll probably realize it was for the best.

Only in this case there are multiple jars of candy for kids to take without an overprotective mom standing guard and not really bother with this one (DS2, TW3, DA3, CIV BE...).

Ok, so we slowly start to play a game with 2 mini expansions promoted in name, but with no content regarding them. Ar you guys serious about undoing all the hard work you done in this game by reverting it to closed beta status of content ? There are ways to control this features to be abused by putting a cap/day or week maybe ?
I remember some time ago that you increased the spawn rate of vaal area so people actually enjoy the content. I was expected that in current patch the exp per quest master to be increased, that reaching level 8 master will not become a feature of strength. Is weird as currently is that having multiple chars to play is not optimal regarding master owned in hideout and their quests. Doing Eleron at level 3 can be problematic, but the reward is simply not there.
In the end this is a farming game, and you actually start to nerf farming. :|

I will sat this who has farmed for the Masters , not in tidal island But as through playing the game to get my Shadow to 68, and I haven't even done Merciless Dom yet, lol a So a lot of farming. The spawn rate is really unpredictable and really low. Did Felshrine 22 times in a row and only one master... Seriosly its ridicules. But one other issue ive noticed is when I created a maurader to see if the farming was any different before the patch got erelon and haku back to back in the fetid pool. nice.


Now im not complaining but I would like to see a balance for instance if im playing a strength based char maybe haku spawns more dex, tora ..str /int erelon..

Just a thought and my 2 cents..still lovin it all though

Instabought the Bear. But why can't our characters' running animations finally be as natural as the bear's? The exiles' running animations is SOOOO stiff. No human being walks like this.

And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.
Aw man, hadn't even started farming masters and their spawn rate is already nerfed. They really want us to play 3 month non stop just to level one yes?
I would have the masters/corrupted rate be updated dynamically, and higher in areas that people aren't playing in, and reduced in areas that are being farmed.
The masters spawn rate in maps seems to be quite high. I don't even play much and if I do say 5 maps in a night there are usually 2-3 that have masters in them.
