personally, I don't think 75ex fee is too much to ask for a shield with 5 perfect stats on it, and the remaining stat is almost perfect and legacy to boot.

Well I mean, you can try your luck at crafting the same shield yourself. Starting from a blue legacy shield with T1 Flat ES ilvl 79 (which already will run you a few ex), et/ex into glyphic alone will take you possibly a thousand eternals. At their going rates you might find that to be enough to not consider the option. The alternative is mirror+75ex, which in turn saves you thousands of exalts.

If you don't like the mirror fee, theres other shields. If you need specifically block/allres/fire res, theres currently no other shields up for mirrors that I am aware of. I have one such base (glyphic/flat es/block), but I lack the funds to finish it. Maybe I'll have it finished in a few months.

Thousands of exalts and 200-300ex. 200-300ex is what you pay to have an exact copy of what took hundreds or thousands to create.

While it's understandable that you would think paying 100 exalts for someone to click a button seems outlandish, let me explain the merits of the mirror fee.

Lets begin with the expenses of the "mirror worthy gear" crafting process. First of all try rolling a blue item with Alterations. How many did it take you to hit a T1 mod? Probably around 10-20. Now replace those Alterations with Eternal+Exalts. That's how much it costs per mod usually beyond the 2nd/3rd one.

Now try rolling an item for a premium mod such as T1 elemental damage on a ring or Tyrannical/Glyphic/Emperor's. This should take you an average of 1100 Alterations. Imagine having to craft an item with just TWO of these mods. Only 1 can be obtained during the cheap Alteration phase, while the other one usually takes thousands of Eternal+Exalts to hit.

You, as the crafter, spend hundreds or thousands of equivalent exalts to craft a piece of gear to best suit your desires. Would you let someone have an exact copy of that piece of gear for a mere mirror? I doubt it. You would want something for the service. A fee.

Lets look at an analogy with what happens in the real world. A company has to pay it's engineers millions of dollars or "exalts" to produce the technology necessary to create a product that can be sold for profit. This "crafting" process to obtain this technology cost them a large amount of time and currency. With the technology complete, it probably costs them next to nothing to reproduce the product. When you purchase electronics what you're paying the most for is the technology put into it, not the plastic or metals used to manufacture it. Whenever you purchase these electronics the price you pay for it is essentially a fee paid to the company that created it to "mirror" their technology.

A mirror + fee will save you a substantial amount of time and money to obtain a desired piece of gear.

^ I'm sure he's well aware of this, but I agree with him that mirror fees should be lower.

High mirror fees (70+ imo) cater to the RMT crowd, those people don't care about the price.

Also, I must congratulate you on setting a nice low fee on your shield. Let's not turn this thread into a debate about gear again though.
