1: its easy to level, drop a wand, staf, sceptre with +1 fire gems and level with flamsblast fire trap

2: its cheap, carcass jack without links cost around 10-20 chaos, searing touch 5link 3 to 5 ex, atziri foible - 5c

3: this build is one of the best in a matter of clear speed, you just throw a fire trap and everything around you die

4: single target its awesome, the rares, exiles, uniques start burn and die, some bosses like piety, dominus, vall, requires more gameplay from you

5: im current running artic armour lv 18 or 19 + clarity/disc/vitality without problems

6: as soon i get home, i'm gonna upload pictures from my standard char

so, no, dont affect traps, the fire trap is made to burn the monsters. the herald works only if you kill a monster with the attack, when the trap trigger, the goal its prolif the fire from her

for level i recomend spell dmg until you get a searing touch

added the new skill tree

changelog for the updated tree:

-removed iron reflexes and the area close to scion tree
-grabed more life
-grabed more fire dmg and 5% ignite chance close to shadow area
-grabed armour nodes close to templar area
