Patch 1.2 Dual Flame Totem Magic Find Marauder
This is the build I am planning on doing for my first character in patch 1.2 to get some currency by farming with good magic find.
FAQ Why Blood Magic?

I am currently planning on doing Blood Magic because of how expensive flame totem is once you link it. Also with the amount of life and life regen I get it will basically be free. There just isn't enough mana scaling in the area of the tree we go through to make it worth using mana. I will consider not using Blood Magic once the patch comes out because of the reduction in skill mana costs.
Why Flame Totem?

I am using flame totem firstly because I like how it looks and feels. Secondly as a dual totem build you do not have to worry about reflect. Thirdly dual totems is a generally safe way to go because of enemies being distracted by totems when you place them ahead of you. We will need this extra bit of survivability because of gearing choices.
Why So Many Dex and Int Nodes?

We have to pick up these Dexterity and Intelligence nodes in order to run our support gems and also to get gear such as spell damage wands. If you have the extra stats on your gear you can respec out of it to get more life from the Scion Wheel or more elemental damage in the Templar area

Your passive trees gives scion as a starting class so dont think they work how you want em to... but i think im gonna do this build as a marauder!

I'm curious, why get the breath of flames ignite cluster? Surely any ignites that this build gets are gong to be minuscule because of the many small hits that flame totem does?

You can still make the passive tree a little better. Consider this - should give you more life for less points (or you can spend that life from wheel on something else)

Witch start looks better to me. Same exact end game build but you level with spells instead of melee.
I would also drop the ignite points and pick up whispers of doom(+1 curse) and do double curse. |

I have updated the passive tree to take out the Breath of Flames cluster as suggested and get more damage elsewhere. I have also changed the pathing as suggested by PaganDK.
I would not start as a witch because it would take way too long to get to Blood Magic and I like having it early for leveling. Thanks for all the suggestions and questions! Keep 'em coming. :) |
