Lightning Buzzsaw CoC

I am going with the ice variant. They also capped shock so it is only 50% more damage instead of a max of 90%. (3 stacks)

Shock and Shocked Ground have been changed so that they cause 50% increased damage taken (rather than 30%) but no longer stack. They do not stack with each other either. "Cannot Be Shocked" now prevents players being affected by either Shocked Ground or Shock itself.

Thank you so much for this build, I will try it out. Haven't ever played a Cast on Crit character yet!

Yea I may end up trying an ice variant too, more because of the several buffs to some skills rather than the shock change. I don't think the shock change will change too much to this spec tbh.

How do you deal with reflect? (Or Lightning Thorns) The 1% leech doesn't seem like it would cover the damage, elemental flask?

Actually considering Lightning Thorns, the lightning variant would SEEM to be safer, but I'm curious for some actual experience feedback.
I can't remember lightning thorns being a problem for any of my specs in months. As for reflect, you can shoot into an average size pack without a lightning flask up and scare yourself but chances are, not die. If your flask is up the damage looks non-existent. On a -max map if you hit a reflect pack even with a flask up you're likely to kill yourself, unless it's very few mobs. Reflect maps aren't worth doing with my exact setup. It's doable but way too risky.

If you've done some testing could you let us know your thoughts on Cold vs Lightning gems? I tried out both and noticed they're both ridiculously strong in AoE to the point where it doesn't really matter. For single target I have a feeling Cold gets a slight edge. I did some testing only using spell X with GMP on the same boss and noticed it took 23 Arcs to kill the boss, 29 Lightning Balls, 10 Freezing Pulses (really close though so perfect shotgun), 10 Arctic Breaths (3 out of 5 hit so a good shotgun) and 11 ice spears (good shotgun). It seems Cold is alot stronger single target wise when you're close. What's your opinion?
I second that, you were already lvl 5x last time I checked, not sure if I should go with totem witch or the ole' buzzsaw with dagger.

Cheers
i just dont get why not acrobatics, srsly 40% + 30% spell with 5 points isnt better than getting that road to charisma? i srsly think so, in hc getting those points is like the difference between not being able to tank shit or death.

id say go for acrobatics, forget about starting with es in the tree for more mana reg, and aim for those in the gear cuz ur missing out some huge fucking boost in dps going into that path just for so little survability..

also, influence is way better than charisma for this build and take way less points

I see 8 points to get acrobatics + spell dodge with this build, which is not to say that it wouldn't be worthwhile, but why are you comparing it to the road to charisma? The "road to charisma" seems necessary unless you plan on cutting off all the points in the ranger area as well.

I'm not so sure charisma was the point of going down that road as opposed to being a "bonus" on the way down there. In which case it's 3 points for charisma vs the 5 points needed to get influence. Please link your build so that we can compare bonuses.

Acrobatics is tempting, but you'd have to cut out either life, crit, or manna + manna regen.
Influence is less desirable to me because I want more mana reduction to use some base auras rather than buffing the few I have.

As for Acro the reason I don't have it is it cuts your ES in half which apparantly affects EB so I'd be cutting my regen potential which I desperately need for AA.

Anyway, just uploaded a video of how I leveled up in Rampage to 70.

To anyone doing this build. Put the new Warlords Mark on your CWDT.. it is ridiculous!

(Also ice has 3 good projectile skills, I am having much better luck running Arctic Breath+ Freeze Pulse+ Ice Spear, instead of cold pen. Really helps with the chance nerf.)

I know it's your build, but I figure you are still working out the kinks.

HOW DARE YOU COME INTO MY HOUSE AND PREACH TO MY CULT.

I mean, er hem. Yea that's actually a good idea from what I've tested too. The new warlord mark gives some real nice survivability. Haven't tried a cold setup yet but that sounds intruiging. I haven't been leveling an arctic breath yet but it's about time I tried ice spear/freeze pulse and gave it a go.
