I leveled as Spectral Throw - big mistake. Several others in this thread leveled as Freezing Pulse and had a much, much easier progression.

Normal FP
Cruel FP & Arc
Merci Arc and FP only for Single Mobs
71 Switch to CoC.

It's just a matter of being appropriate level for the content, having high enough level gems and good enough gear/passives. Eventually your lightning spells will take on single target well enough that you don't need to swap but play around with other spells and you'll find some do better for single target.

A GMP freeze pulse kills things real fast, arctic breath, fireball, removing GMP for single ball lightning, etc. There are a lot of combos I tried and ended up swapping to for bosses when I felt I wanted more single target deeps. Try some stuff out and see what works for you.


To the person asking if HC viable. No, not really. I mean it is with good gear but you'll probably end up killing yourself due to shooting into a large reflect pack without pressing your resist flask in time. Happens to the best of us and I'd hate to lose my char over a careless mistake.

I know witch, ranger and shadow is for viable for this build. Would it be viable for the scion on too? how do you deal with reflect damage and elemental damage?

The point why I'm posting here is, that I happen to find maligaros in my last map run. Before I go ahead and sell em I wanted to ask you guys how good they would fit into this build.
Tl;dr: keep maligaros or sell em to use rares?!

i ll buy your Deerskin Gloves ;)

I dont know you lose a resi slot. And if you are useing rats nest its even harder with ele reflect.

Ele Reflect is with a Topas Drink not that big deal.

But Mathil wrote it, HC is hard with that build.

Can anyone suggest some build progression? Like up to this level, add these nodes, etc.
Of course you'll want to level up as FP and take elemental dmg and life nodes and leave dagger/crits to last but I'd be interested in what others think.

I play Rampage, so I dont need a super tanky char. But I dont want to die all the time ofc :D
Up to now I didnt plan wether I use rats nest or Starkonjas. Neither do I have a plan about my resits :D
I was just wondering, why these gloves arent mentioned anywhere and if they are any good here ... since they seem to fit quite well - "just" lacking res and life :x
