dime's hardcore level 84 sweep marauder
" If you have been watching, you will have seen my life spiking nearly every other group of mobs, up until I got to level 75-80. This is what I mean when I say it was tough leveling, as I had over a hundred close calls. With good gear, this build should be invincible, and put out very good aoe damage. My sweep is currently over 3000 dps, and my life is under 4000 after auras. I granite nearly every mob pack. IGN @dime

Hey dime,
I see you've only gotten 1 Max Endurance charge node. Why is that? Do you feel that getting more than 1 max endurance charge node will not be worth it? Thanks, and good luck in the ladder. |
|
Hey, i like the build, i am doing something similar myself. I would like to "complain" about those 2 endurance charges you did not take.
They give you 10% all resists and 10% more phys reduction, along with 0.4% more life regen, why would you not take them is beyond me. Other than that, everything else is fine (apart from blood magic, hate that). I wonder though, what is your phys damage reduction with all charges up? I did not take any armor nodes and i am sitting at 70%. Wondering how big a difference would be if i took a couple of those. lvl 77 mara. EDIT. I have also seen that you took those 3 points in mace damage near resolute technique. Consider taking those 3 near blood magic, they give you 3% less mace dmg but give 6% more att speed. What i would do is refund those 3 points, refund a 30 dex node, take bloodless > take 3 mace dmg nodes > refund the top way str nodes (since you now only need two to get to blood magic instead of 3) and then if you needed that dex, put the point that you have extra into versatility (20dex, 20int). This way you lose 3% phys dmg and 10 dex but gain 6% attack speed and 20 int along with "bloodless" for the same amount of points. It may be miniscule, but i think it is a better deal :) Last edited by Balsha#2373 on Feb 4, 2013, 12:51:03 AM

<3 your Mara., man!
I am a follower of your stream from Closed Beta and watched many DemiGods win :D It is very impressive how you are able to jump in room and clean them at high level where nobody has the balls to enter. A great Close Combat char. example, lot of respect for GenghisKhron! |

" lol you should try an alch on a high level Astral, regarding your actual gear pic. from closed beta (Demigod please :p) Last edited by Mugiwara#4116 on Feb 4, 2013, 6:56:39 AM

May be a noob question, but why iron reflexes when you don't have that many evasion gear?
|
|
" Because I took unwavering stance, which is crucial when you are standing in the middle of 10 mobs, so that your attacks cannot be interrupted. Taking that keystone means that you cannot evade attacks, so there is no point to evasion. So all IR means is that I get a slight armor boost from what would otherwise be useless evasion. This also opens up my gear selection to allow for wearing evasion gear if I ever find any that is better than what I have on. Another part of this is taking blood magic. The Determination aura (armor buff) takes a percentage of life, whereas the Grace aura takes a fixed amount of life (think 100-200). If I take blood magic I cannot use Determination, but I can use Grace which grants evasion which is then converted to armor. I will note that even with IR/US you still have a base 5% evade chance. " " The marauder node I took, because the "endurance charge regen" node is behind it. With that and the Oak reward, I already have 5 charges. To me this feels sufficient, considering I have close to max resist and 6 armor nodes already. Eventually I can grab the others, but I don't think they will really help me feel any more survivable than I already am. " Thing is, if your charges go down and you are caught unexpectedly, you will have made a costly mistake. " Good points but it's not too important I feel, as I continue to level I will grab more damage including the "enemies cannot leech life" by the 2x 12% life nodes between marauder/duelist trees. I respeced many points but I probably have half a dozen left just from quest rewards. Once I am a bit more geared out I can take a closer look at what can be removed/shifted. " I have tried crafting tons of gear, and not been very lucky. That's why I suggested trying to save orbs until you have access to the end-game loot, because honestly I've run dry on all my alc/chaos/scouring/fusing/chrom and will be forced to farm or trade at this point. " Thanks man, it is a really fun build to play. When I was GS or single-target, there wasn't much use to leaping into a room other than absorbing damage/threat. Sweep combined with leap slam feels highly effective. IGN @dime

im having lots of trouble progressing into maps, i can clear docks without much of a problem, but maps are entirely different, especially elemental mobs are a problem even with max res(80) they just deal too much damage, im running sweep with axes with 3.3khp, lvl68
what im asking is, at what point were you safe to progress into maps alone, and what combos you had hard time with (fuck me i had undead rhoas + rezzers, fuck that shit) Last edited by so0pel#1722 on Feb 4, 2013, 3:36:09 PM

" I still have not gone into maps alone, I think I did a couple at around level 75, but the going was slow. If you insist on playing solo I would stay in docks or maybe even the temple level 2/3 for many more levels. It's more about having good gear than it is about being a certain level. IGN @dime
