We're Adding a Hardcore One-month Event!
" I don't really understand why it is such a big deal that there is a HC and SC mode running side-by-side. WTH is everyone so butt-hurt about? ~ Adapt, Improvise and Overcome

" Some people have this irrational hate for HC players. HC players gave reasonable feedback wanting a HC league when nothing else is going on which apparently makes these posters angry. Last edited by kasub#2910 on Jul 7, 2014, 9:07:50 PM

There, that should quiet em down a bit, you'd swear someone was drowning a puppy.
Now I just can't wait for the same people who cried for an HC mode of this to come right back and cry because it's too hard/unfair for HC players still in some way, those people will always find something to pick at. Just sit back, grab a bowl and enjoy :D |

" I hope i do see hardcore players crying about this. Been a hardcore league player myself, that always makes me smile. |

I'm glad there's a hardcore option now as well. I'll definitely join, given this change.
A lot of hardcore players other than me simply wouldn't have joined the one month event if it was softcore-only. The playerbase isn't split because GGG makes SC and HC leagues. It's split because different gamers have different preferences and we all tend to follow our preferences. Solving this one problem does create another, though. It's quite likely that GGG didn't want the rage-posting that could follow, given how extreme some of the mob combinations might prove to be. To at least partially deflect this, GGG may want to consider a splash-screen warning players about to make a hardcore character for the one month league that the difficulty will be the most extreme it has ever been. Make it clear that hardcore characters will transfer to standard if they die, as is usually the case (so nobody ends up believing they end up in the softcore event if their character dies). I'm looking forward to rolling out a fresh summoner for the one month event. :) Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?

" well the first few weeks of invasion was the worst pain ever for some hardcore people. But that was all to do with getting one shot from off screen without a chance to do anything about it. Since the changes to invasion(even if a little too much on the easy side now)i dont really see this league been THAT bad. |

" I don't have a "irrational hate" for hc players, I'm even going to be playing in the HC league. I just think it's funny that they're all whining and crying, and then they get their way. Tantrums work for GGG I guess. |

GGG has done it once again,
Long Live GGG! |

" What tantrums? There was a lot of mature posts just making their feedback known. There is rude posters on each "side" that doesn't really negate the legitimate criticism. HC players rightfully wanted a league to play in. They wouldn't have complained if invasion was still going on but there is nothing to do right now. Many were not even passionate and simply said they'll have to break till the 4 month league due to the lack of HC. That's how feedback is given and how GGG knows what players want. This is a perfect example of GGG reading feedback and swiftly responding. Last edited by kasub#2910 on Jul 7, 2014, 9:24:43 PM

" It's a great day for PoE HC players. It's a regular day for PoE SC players. The massive QQ made them budge. They can expect this type of response again eventually, especially from the HC crowd that has gotten their way twice now due to big QQ. Once the QQ works for a group in a game, they continue to leverage their position until the company figures out their mistake (see WoW). It's a bad day for GGG. |
