Could you give a brief explanation why you no longer use eye of chayula yet you recommend it in your exile pro guide? Sorry if this has been asked before, I haven't read through all the pages on this thread yet.

hi there, i see you are not using the anti stun amulet

how do you cope with those rhoa skull monsters or similar?

even if i play very carefully it happens once in a while that they catch me

and stun me to death, what can i do instead of just getting insane amounts of ES? ^^

You need the stun amulet. He doesn't need it because he has 11k ES and enough damage to kill any large packs of mobs before they can stunlock him. He also can cast the totem and run like crazy with his quicksilver flasks. He probably doesn't even need the dream fragments since he can get a "of heat" granite or quicksilver. Dream fragments does have really good stats for his build though, so he probably doesn't want to get rid of it.

I believe he had culling strike as his 6th link awhile ago.

Spell damage vs lighting damage vs elemental damage question.

I am bidding on a wand that has 108% spell damage and 1-79 lightning damage and 1-14 cold damage. Since this is on the wand and not my chest where I have my totem linked does it still add in the spell damage to spark/totem? Does it add the lightning and cold damage as well?

I know it was said that all spell/lightning/elemental damage adds to the total spork damage, but was unsure if that was true if on a wand.

The 1-79 Lightning damage and 1-14cold damage will only affect attacks being done with the wand and will not benefit your totems at all.

If we are talking %lightning damage, %spell damage and %elemental damage. They all use exactly the same formula since you only use one element. So 20% Lightning Damage = 20% Spell damage = 20 Elemental damage for your spork build. These three stats will work on your totems regardless of where it is linked.
Thank you renchak.

how many jeweler and fusing do you need to spent to get that 6 link?

already use 120 jewler on my vaal didnt even get a 6 slot
Dear DMC.

Socket crafting is sucks. but

6socket is easier than 6link.

you will get 6link... maybe 300 jeweller consume. (unless you're very unlucky)

expected Orb of Fusing Consumption per 6link is known 734 (521-1241)

this is more than 20 exal. :(

few weeks ago. i spent 300 fusing but i couldnt got 5link.

Since that time. i never socket or fusing crafting.

That 6L ES chest is mirrored item. just bought.

sorry about my bad english too :)

Fireknight,

I don't know if you are still tracking this thread, but I'd love to hear your input on some questions that I have. Concept looks like great fun, and great utility. My wife and I play together and usually build our own characters but, after getting to Act II merciless with our random Ranger and Duelist builds and getting floored by everything, we decided to try following guided builds. She has built a much better Lightning Arrow Ranger this ime and I'm trying out this Dual Spork. Questions:

1) We must play awfully slow and conservative (HC) because I have completely finished your passive build out for Normal and we are level 26 in Act II. Should I just continue to follow the build or should I fill in my tree with some things I need, like more STR to level my Bear Traps? I understand that I will need to keep the HP nodes at the end of branches in order to respec eventually into CI. Or should I just haul ass into Cruel now and get busy and look for gear to support our off-color gems?

2) I'm currently using FP with Faster Casting and Frostbite, with Wrath and Clarity running. I feel like this is a cold based build so far lol, when should I expect to start using my first totem? Looks like Spell Totem won't be available till 31 in Cruel Act III so I've got a long life of FP ahead of me. Should I at least start leveling up my Spark(s)?

3) What will the Dual Spork configuration look like? Two different Spark gems linked to two different Spell Totem gems?

Many thanks for a great guide and outstanding commentary along the way, and to the rest of the community as well. Thans, guys.

Hi Winterfury,

I have been trying Fireknight's build and I also had the same questions in my head. I am currently playing on Softcore and my character is level 66. I don't think it was a good idea to go for HC with a build that I know nothing about. So I'm trying it out on Softcore and I am loving it.

Since I don't have access (yet) to the epic gear that Fireknight has, I had to use 2 dexterity passives and 1 strength passive, in order to be able to use Bear Traps (require a lot dexterity) and spell totem (requires some strength).

I didn't wait for level 60 to get the dual totem passive (Ancestral Bond) and to be honest I didn't had much troubles killing mobs. In fact I felt a huge difference using the totems because it opens a whole new defensive gameplay style if you play carefully.

To help you out, I have reproduced exactly the steps I took to use this build with common gear. I have also listed with numbers the exact order of key skills you should get.

STEP 1

1. Unnatural Calm
2. Fitness
3. Agility: note that you can get a Jade Amulet with +30 dexterity to help you leveling your bear traps. If you can, try to use some Alchemy Orbs on a +30 dexterity Jade Amulet and if you are lucky you will get even more dex mods. This is my amulet:

STEP 2
4. Static Blows
5. Life nodes

STEP 3
6. Divine Toughness: very important skill to increase your HP
7. Hex Master: great to conserve mana because you won't have to cast curses so many times
8. Ancestral Bond: when fun begins, this will allow you to cast dual totems. Do not start using spell totem skill if you can only cast 1 totem and if you don't have a 4 linked armor piece with Green, Red, Blue, Blue sockets. It is crucial to get a 4L armor piece to use Spark + Fork + Spell Totem + Fast Casting

STEP 4
9. Elemental resistance with shields: these 2 passives give you 30% elemental resistance. Very important.
10. Agility: another dexterity passive, if needed

STEP 5
11. Whispers of Doom: go for it first if you already have Temporal Chains skill gem. This skill will make a huge difference. It will allow you to use Conductivity & Temporal Chains at the same time, which is really important on difficult monsters (special archers, spellcasters, yellow and orange bosses)
12. Body & Soul: will boost your energy shield and give you more resistances

STEP 6
13. Might: if you are starting to need strength to be able to level your spell totem skill
14. Inner Force: get 2 Quicksilver Flasks and use some alteration orbs on them until you get increase moving speed mod. This will help you back off on dangerous situations and, eventually, avoid death.

STEP 7
15: Elementalist: slighty buffs your spark damage
16: Body and Soul: more resistances and ES

STEP 8
17: Elemental adaption: more resistances

Note that I did not switched to Chaos Innoculation only because I am playing on softcore. If you are playing on hardcore, I suggest you to play extra carefully with this setup since you will have -60% resistances versus chaos damage. Soon you manage to get over 2500 Energy Shield, spend a passive point on Chaos Innoculations, respec all the life passive nodes and use them on energy shield passives.

I am only using Clarity and Discipline. I can't use purity yet because my low mana does not allow me to (I need better equipment). Again if you don't have epic gear, I recommend not leveling clarity and discipline more than level 5 (and yes forget about purity).

Here are my passive skills and my gear at level 66:
