Dominion's Hardcore Dual-Spark CI Witch - UPDATED for 1.0.1

Edit: nvm I was just to lazy to hover over all the shield block nodes, 30% ftw.

How do you deal with Act Bosses that can one shot even if you have Good Armor +4k life? You suggest progressing in ACt 2 Merc with 4K es! Can you give a brief explanation of tactis for beating Vaal, Oak, Piety and the thoughest you have encountered? Do you solo it by placing totem and just run? Or always did it in party? I have a build similar to yours, i just saw a topic of a lvl 77 dying and now i'm afraid, currently act 2 cruel!

All the bosses are jokes with dual totem. Just dual curse and keep your totems up -> you don't have to be anywhere near getting hit.

Thx for the fast reply, i'm leveling 1 totem for now, manage to dual totem in merciless act 2.
@PSGMud - I've previously run tests in closed beta on arc vs spark for open maps. I never found arc to be conclusively faster. As long as you're passing the threshold where spark is shock stacking effectively, spark is still faster in outdoor maps.

@Xulingaming - I try to get 15% or higher, then use GCP to max it out.
- Both, spark is useful self-cast until it can be used on a totem.
- On pieces that have base energy shield, I prefer to get as much ES as possible, even if it means getting no resistances on that piece. I would rather get resistances from passives/rings/amulets/belts/aura than sacrifice potential ES to get resistances on my helm/chest/gloves/boots.
- Prioritize cast speed and spell damage. 60% spell damage with 15% cast speed is better than 120% spell damage.
- Any map without half regen/enfeeble/lightning resist I clear in 3-6 minutes. It usually takes me a bit longer for the aforementioned affixes.
- It is not gear dependent, but good gear makes the build much more effective. I began mapping with 300DPS. After gearing throughout the last month and switching to critical, I do almost 1400DPS. The build is very playable with very little gear, but becomes much more effective by investing in better gear.

@DON7PANIC - You're probably mistaken. It's unlikely that the reflect did damage to you, it's more likely that something else (maybe puncture) did damage to you while you were fighting a reflect mob.

@Amonadune - Spark + Fork + Spell totem + Faster casting + Lightning Pen + Culling strike - In that order. With 4 sockets go for faster casting.
- Quality on lightning pen is very trivial - a small dps increase. Quality on Culling strike is absolutely vital. 20% quality on level 20 culling strike gives an extra 10% cast speed.

@Ilmaiale - Merciless vaal is easy with double totems. You simply double curse him (temp chains with enfeeble if you're really concerned) then throw the totems on top of him and kite around the room, maintaining enough distance to avoid his melee attack. When he summons minions, move the totems to kill the minions first, then place them on top of vaal again. If he starts his rock phase, chain granite flasks throughout the rock phase duration. Portal out if you run out of granite flask charges. Rinse/repeat. Oak is even easier. He can never hit a moving target. Just set both totems in the middle of his followers, then move behind the tent in the NW and start the fight. Kill off all the minions, then kite oak around while the totems kill him. I don't really have a diluted strategy for piety yet. If you're concerned about fighting her, since you don't need to kill her to get into maps, you can simply gear up and level before you fight her, then mow her down without effort later on.

How much ES are you sitting on? And how far is the video project?
Hey guys, I'm relatively new to the game and have never played a witch nor a CI character. Could you provide me some basic tips please in the two areas stated (if any worth of note).

Also could you explain the limitations of the build in terms of map modifications which you struggle/can't deal with.

Many thanks

After making the shift to crit, I'm down to 7200ES (From 8200). DPS is up from 890 to 1370.

As far as the video is concerned, I have a recording of playing through a few maps and viewing the passives/gear. I need a good suggestion for a program to add audio for commentary. If anyone has suggestions they would be much appreciated.

@AbstractJoe - Firstly, regarding map mods:

Impossible: Blood magic (Only a 0.5% chance to roll, fairly insignificant)

Slows clear speed significantly (50% to 100% increased time required)

-Noregen (doubles the time required)
-HalfRegen (About 75% more time required)
-Lightning Resistant (About 50% more time required)
-Enfeeble (About 50% more time required)

I don't really have time to do an in-depth walkthrough for beginning on a witch. If you have more specific questions, I'm quite willing to answer them.

missing some lvls now from 31 to get my 1st totem :D but i discovere i dont have enough stre and also cant use traps bcuz they need dex :D hou u worked this out on low lvls? atm i cant use most of those skills:P
A blue Jade amulet with +dex roll can easily solve your dex problems. Below CI and above Inner Force are also a couple of +30 Dex/Strength nodes that you can grab.
