Munsie's Fire Trap Marauder [Level 100 HC] [1.3 Update]

I really like the concept of the build. I wonder though if using flameblast might work the same.

I have a koams already, and a searing touch that I'm dumping fusings into. One day, hopefully soon I'll run this build.

Hey, glad you like it.

There's a few differences between using Fire Trap and using Flameblast on a char like this. Flameblast is going to deal more damage, but you also lose a bit of mobility (the trap throwing animation is quite fast). The biggest issue, however, is that you open yourself to a world of Ele Reflect hurt when using Flameblast. If you only stack up 2-3 Flameblast stacks for most packs, you'll probably be fine... But it's not a risk I'd personally take in HC. :)

Can this build do atziri herself? I assume not since she's immune to ignite

I haven't bothered to try because I'm pretty sure the damage would be terrible.

I'm really not thrilled with their design choices for the Atziri fights, it seems to exclude a pretty high number of caster builds. :(

Hit lv96 last night, updated my passive tree accordingly. I snagged the 1% max fire res from the Marauder tree with the skill point I got.

Hey! This seems like a pretty cool build that I'd want to try out for the next hardcore league, how was the process leveling up?

Whoops. Sorry for such a late reply, I haven't checked up on the comments in a while!

The leveling process was really, really easy. If you can get your hands on a Searing Touch early on, it will single-handedly carry you to maps. Even without a ST, however, it's still reasonbly quick. Prolif burns are super strong. :)

As mentioned elsewhere in the thread though, you're probably better off starting as a Templar if you want to get your hands on damage nodes early in the leveling process. I just happen to be a Marauder (it made more sense several patches ago lol).

The nodes you're referring to all come with either %life or %life regen, which is why I've specced into them. There isn't any more life/life regen available on the left side of the tree without going many many points into the Duelist starting area.
