Dual Ungil crit Witch. Cast On Crit Storm Call [work in progress. comments appreciated]
I wanted to try a CoC build because i managed to cheaply craft this
and the idea of CoC Stormcall seems cool to me too ;) Also, ungil's gauche block bonus is amazing, so I thought i'd give this build a try, but starting as a shadow instead of witch. This is my first draft As you can see, it's based on the one proposed by Pyrokar, but instead of going for Nightstalker, i pick up Blast Radius, Instability and Spell damage per power charge, making up for the crit chance with power charges. Another thing i was thinking about was getting frenzy charges and using Getting +2 frenzy charges from the tree, with the 4% eva per frenzy charge, wouldn't be a problem by taking a different path (it saves 1 skill point too), but I'm worried that using up another slot for a unique would make it too hard to gear properly. I won't be using Sadima's anyway. Also, going further with the build i'd go for Dervish (10% block while dual wielding) and the last frenzy charge is right there too. Also, for single target i thought about something like molten strike, coc, EK, multistrike/conc effect (conc effect on molten strike reduces the spread of projectiles making it easier to hit a single mob). What other options are good for single target? Let me know what you think! Bye EDIT: This is an endgame version with frenzy charges Last edited by ThePlash#0157 on Jun 15, 2014, 12:17:23 AM

I managed to get to merciless ledge, now i feel like i can consistently use CoC instead of my leveling set.
I must say that Stormcall CoC was a real let down. I switched in an arc gem (2 levels under the SC gem) and it was performing so much better. The problem here is the delay on SC, which almost always ends up in overkilling (before you actually do damage, you proc so many Stormcalls that the majority of them go to waste). Also, it dangerously delays life leech, and that could be really bad in certain situations. That being said, i think i'll be working around this char to fit something else, maybe even try discharge to get voll's full potential (and that means no blood dance boots ofc), or just get me a good 5L eva chest and go with some other mainstream spell setup. Another problem i had was about having enough mana/mana regen to sustain myself. I recycled an atziri's foible for the time being from another char, and used Clarity on blood magic, but i'll need to change amulet sooner or later and i feel that would be putting me in a tight spot again... I'll see if it's worth the regrets to keep the char or simply abandon it Bye Last edited by ThePlash#0157 on Jun 16, 2014, 11:46:57 PM

Thief's torment is a pretty good way to sustain mana. You will still have trouble with reflect though.

great suggestions guys.
@ThePlash, I use Voll's Protector on my other Witch. she's a hybrid summoner with Arc - and Voll makes collecting charges pretty much instant. I think she deals the highest DPS out of all my characters. one-shotting Act 3 Merciless monsters at level 68-69 isn't trivial. but she gets completely slaughtered whenever there's an Ele Reflect or Lightning Thorns around, so I need to completely stop attacking and let my Zombies deal with those instead, and that's a serious weakness as early as low maps - because they get killed quickly, despite all the buffs from the tree and support gems. this CoC build has the potential to be a better balance between dishing out Lightning Damage, and being able to take a few hits including Reflect - but I only started Act 3 Merciless recently, so didn't test maps with it yet. Voll's is a no-no when trying to CoC, unless you get leech mana from some item like . I found that it makes your mana regenerate really slow and leaves very little mana to cast, after auras.
Btw this ring is from my lvl 86 CoC char in Hc and you can view his gem-setup and gear in this spoiler:
Spoiler
I use the mana flask to leech from bosses i can't shock. I run purity of cold and lightning, but if you focus only on one element there is room to use clarity. I have leveled the ST because i mostly don't have problems leeching and the crits from the daggers deal a lot of damage as well since things get shocked often. I wanted to ask John: How far along have you brought your CoC char, what is his crit chance and have you tried using a diamond flask as suggested? I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. Now my post has been removed, chained and exiled by mods who Ban. Ban is my brother; i do not fear it. I see it in the eyes of men and beasts that i troll. It will take me to play the actual game when i am ready and i am not ready. Last edited by Pyrokar#6587 on Jun 25, 2014, 7:07:40 AM
