Just killed Uber with lvl-17 surge, no empower.

Because I dont know how to phrase the question:

Lets say a new 4 month would start tomorrow... would you consider going RF+Flame Surge right at the start? Or is the build too limited to the levels of the gems/helm (to a point where you cant compensate with health regen nodes).

If i did, i'd prob start off with lightning ninja, and go a similar path so i could make this build for end game.

I cant decide which one is better :(

1)
Flame surge - fast cast - fire penetration - empower
on 4L +1 level of gems

2)
Flame surge - fast cast - conc effect - empower
on 4L +1 level of gems

3)
Flame surge - fast cast - conc effect- fire penetration - empower
on 5L

i don't know how to get more dps D: i have 10k dps on both arc and flame surge(lvl 16 5L no empower)

i'm lvl 83

cast speed on jewellery try max roll for it, and use this passive optimized for dps



use gloves and boots with high es, u can use haste instead vitaly using 3 0.4 regen nodes,

with this config u go for around 15k dps, and ofc gems 20/20

But that also depends on how many gemslots you afford to loose for more dps?

Your #1, doesnt have conc effect, and that is to valuable to leave out since it is TONS of dps, and i mean TONS. At a high lvl surge this MORE multiplier is to valuable to leave out when dealing with single target mobs,

Your #2, doesnt have fire penetration. And this is almost a bigger loss than conc effect due to it being used as single target spell vs uniques and rares. Your curses arent as effective on unique mobs as regular mobs, so you wont get much resistance down that way. You need fire penetration.

Option nr 3 is the best one by far since imo all those gems are needed.

You could do option nr4 and leave out fastercast?

If you really dont wanna use a chestpiece for it. Conc effect is better than castspeed, and fire penetration is better than castspeed if you have to settle with a 4L. When it comes to empower vs castspeed, its a bit tougher, depends more on your character overall. But id say empower lvl3 once the gem hits lvl 19+. since the scaling will be better off.

Having a blast with this still, but I'm wondering how I can push the DPS more. Right now I'm pretty close from maxing all gems except for the 18/20 (soon 19/20) Surge and the 19/0 Fire Pen, yet my tooltip is still "only" at around 20k. Which melts a lot of stuff, but I'm not sure how you are expecting 40-50k with a lvl20 surge, am I missing something ?



My tree does lack a few DPS nodes compared to yours (surprise, I'm not lvl97), but that's only like 30% increased.
I do lack spelldmg on ammy and cast speed on ring, which should account for a few k DPS, but certainly not half of it...
My Righteous Fire is 19/20, I tried snapshotting it with +6 but it only went up by like 1k (was expecting a bit more from that, will probably not bother in the future unless I really need the gem slots)
Did you drop Vitality for something else, like Haste ? I see you are taking .4% regen nodes you wouldn't need with Vit. Although I'm pretty sure I can't squeeze in a 60% instead of a 40% with my PoF empowered, and I'm pretty sure we have the same setup mana reservation wise.

...Or are your numbers including Atziri Flask and Vaal Haste ?
