Astykon - The Great Freeze Pulse Build [ 1.3 ]

i actually still got my act2 Normal gear ;) ands its crap... and just one blue 4link armor.. i was lucky to find a sunblast belt wich helps me a lot.. i really like firetraps a lot with this build.

decoy totem, firetraps on the spot or towards the enemies and lots of icepewpew closecombat.. pointblank gem seems to work really good with this one.. but i still havent got enough crit nodes.

the nice thing is the daggers just dondt need to do damage, they just have to do lots of crit ;)
im still figuring out what stuff will boost my spell/projectile damage more in combination with critcritcrit ;)

now with some better gear, some linked shit and on a 4 link life leech, power on crit, LMP and freeze with ele weekness curse, and some buttblowing cold snap with crit,rarity and area shit and lots of nodes from the witch..... the shit is kicking ;)

now suddenly super tanky and killing with turbo ;) and for safety first the decoy totem and lots of love from fire mines ;)

i really like this build a lot! abd its time to freeze till my eyes burn

point blank support gem shouldnt work at all since Point Blank only works with attacks not with spells...

if it somehow really works with FP now, I'd consider it a bug...

Doesn't FP have point blank built in though? The closer you are to the mob, the more damage it does. From the wiki:

"The Pulse is at peak strength when it's cast, so it has the greatest effect on enemies that are right up next to the caster."

yep! you are right. it doesnt do anything ;9 i think i was drunken when i tested it ;)

im at merci 1 now and im having shit resi. time to upgrade stuff. but on ledge this build goes trough like a bullettrain ;) ..

i additionally use arc with ele prolif + crit + extra lightning damage and its really a lovely long range attack with nice mass shock and freeze ability.

freezing pulse is really awesome ;) and with no mana problems from my 2 auras ( grace + ice herald and some arctic armor)

im still having it 4 linked and the life leech gem is still essential for me..

No it doesnt have point blank (or at least not really).
Point blank gives you 50% MORE dmg on close range, but you'll loose up to 100% dmg after a certain range.
Freezing Pulse just looses up to 100% dmg. So it is basically only has the penalty of "point blank".
Other than point blank you increase the 'full-dmg range' of FP with increased projectile speed. (point blank has a fixed range as far as I know)

WTF how can you run a 4L FP with grace+ice herald+arctic armor in act 1 merc without having mana probs?

I only use one purity aura and herald of ice + clarity, no arctic armor and have pretty huge mana problems with (FP+lifeLeech+LMP+addedLightning) in act 3 merc.

You just dont get mana regen as damn shadow^^ thats why witch is so much superior as caster

Great guys I like how you communicate in here. Merciless is huge difficult step you better be resist capped in order to survive the damage. You can always go and buy some cheap stuff with HP and resists and even with this crafting system you can easily have tri resist items. :)

hiho well actually im not running grace anymore since i had sick mana reg probs.. reason was the arctic armor was still leveling.. right now i just need a lil more mana and i can run grace ,arctic, herald, and purity for manareg..

my prob now is my shit gear wit 40,5,15 resi .. and nothing for armor or defense..

im on merci 2 now and need some upgrades.

well need too look for some stuff on xyz or maybe ill find something nice.

the damage is still massiv and now need for upgrades right now. i also use as mentioned arc wich is nice for the start to freeze + shock with ele proliferation

That's great. You can always spare few chaos and get your resists capped. It's really important to get them capped for merciless and therefore for mapping.

Hi, having played mostly melees so far this is actually my first caster and I really enjoy the build. Currently in the mid of cruel at beyond and playing self-found. I am starting to get problems with my defense now. But my main question concerning the build is how you manage to run three auras, AA and a 6L-spell all on mana.

Hi, just started 2 Weeks ago with this Build and im having a Blast ^^ Had the Luck of getting a real early drop of Tabula, so at the moment im running a 6-link FP with 62 Mana Cost(Spell Echo is in there so one Cast is only around 30 Mana) and 1300 DPS and the Mobs just shatter around me. Auras at the Moment are Clarity, Frost Armor and Herald of Ice which seems to work at the Moment, but i cant lvl up my Arctic Armor anymore :P(Discipline im lvling in an extra Socket, but a the moment i cant run it)

Today i got a 14% FP out of a Gemcutters Box, so im lvling this one until it got the same Lvl as my active FP will probably give another huge Damage Boost. Corrupted so far 8 Karui Wards, but no Luck so far with Cold Dmg Leech.

So far i got until lvl55 in act2 Merciless and even with my Crap Resistances i still can run most of actual Content(Master Quest or Corrupted Areas), just Chaos Enemys are killing me to fast xD

At which Moment would you recommend Eldritch Battery? I skilled until the Intelligence Node before this Keystone, but cant decide if i should take it or not ^^
