The Two-Week Race has Ended!

I still have no idea how this "one account per player" will be enforced.

Via IP? We played on one internet, hence we rent the flat.
Via Steam? Everyone played on his own account, so this one is fine.
Via machine? My girlfriend and used my machine via her account. (She does not have a laptop even, lol.)

Via... what?
Seriously tho. I have no idea/guess.

Yeah we were/are all kinda worried, because we all want to take part in the event.
Rules said: One account per person, and so did we play like that. But then again, I saw no indication how could I could prove this, like scanning ID cards? Or like making videos? Or what? Not like I/they would mind that either.

So... uhm... could anyone shed some light on this rule?
Or a way to "prove yourself" against it?

Thanks GGG or anyone who can clarify this.

There are ways for them to tell the difference in players aside from those physical factors.

Just as an example (not sure if this is how GGG does it though)

Player one will move, attack /oos attack move.
Player two will attack, move, attack, move /oos
player three will move, attack /oos, attack, move.

Player one and player three are likely the same person due to the repeated sequencing of keystrokes. So their computer would first maybe check for same details on a computer log, ie using the same computer or ip etc. They will then check those accounts with a computer prog for 'signature playstyle features' which would have been logged for x time.

Your playstyle is a bit like your handwriting, its very hard to change it beyond recognition.

If you are concernded however, mail customer support and state your cirucmstances to them so they can check your accounts manually for you.

I find the highest prize kinda stupid because not everybody wants to be put on the spot like that. Not everybody feel they want to speak an hour with strangers.

If I were to win the first price I probably would want to give it up or have the prize rerolled and have that person speak with you guys because I wouldn't have much to say.

That's okay. Let's hope the prize finds a good home.

Will the "Do not enter with multiple accounts - this will disqualify you." be an issue if multiple people play from the same IP? My roomate and I both play and plan on doing the race.

It's fine to play with your roommate on the same IP.

been going through some post of chris in the earlier anouncements, playing with more then 1 person from the same ip shouldnt be a problem.
Great race, would love to have more 2week races :=)

Is interested in if u could make a list over top25 builds etc. Also what items top25 have, are there any items that needs to be nerfed/buffed, because all top players use them? :=)

Please make InfoGrafic with full statistic and etc, Melee/Casters/Ranged etc, Most popular skill gems, skill tree nodes, etc etc etc.
We want Infografic! More stasts - better :)

Top builds is good :) But for the items they use, and i dont think anything need to be nerfed at this moment yet. Because if you see Pulp, yes OP Rise of the Phoenix, but you cant say this shield needs a nerf just because its drop rate its quite low, and yes he got lucky to loot it early in the race and manage to benefit from it. I think the only thing that can slightly cry for a nerf is the Arc build. Quite strong even without good gear, all u need is to level your gems, follow appropriate skill tree and get 5 links at some point, i mean you dont even need 6link to have godly map clear speed ;]
I personally found playing for prizes in a charity race a very interesting dynamic to POE. Between my job and girlfriend, I barely have time to play anymore, but found this aspect a luring venture to participate in and look forward to the possibilities of what the future may entail! Keep mixing it up.
I am a slave and I am a master
As I'm a newbie to PoE I am still probably not yet tired of the game. However, I found the Charity and Prize combo to be a great drawcard. Having a family of two young children and a hectic work schedule, the enticement drew me to playing a lot of late night games (and sacrificing a lot of sleep over the 2 weeks). I'd look forward to playing some similar events in future, and am looking forward to when the new Season starts. Maybe I'll finally be able to make it out of Normal and into Cruel difficulty (I died on the Dominus fight on my third character).
Cheers, Chris.
The race is finished and it can be amazing to see some complex race statistics now.
