ReverendBizzarre: ele cleave templar [6k life, 45k+ dps]

how many auras can the Templar build use mid to late game? for the marauder? I'm specifically referring to mid (40s-50s) and late game (70++) (before and after you pick up the energy shield nodes near the duelist tree)

I'm in the process of customizing it for hardcore endgame and would appreciate some info. I recently found a q immortal call and Q increased duration. i'm contemplating on doing a build built around immortal call for tough zones. I feel this build is pretty powerful but will have trouble surviving endgame. Kole will most likely 2 shot you.

I was using 4 auras, anger, wrath, grace and determination or purity for ele weakness maps.
Marauder can run 3, anger, wrath, grace because its BM based only flat auras will do.

With 4.7k life and the mediocre gear i was using i havent had much problems doing level 72 and over maps to be honest, didnt get any 2hots, the leech rate is ridiuclous when you do dps this high, the only absolute certain deaths are vaal ground slam if you dont avoid it in time, attacking a lot of throns mobs instead of going slow on them and going mental on 20 mobs on reflect. People doing this build with good endgame gear had way more life and dps than me.

I actually haven't had any problems with lightning thorns since they nerfed it. I don't even pay attention to it or pick off the mages first anymore. I do have 85% lightning resist though, so somebody only at 75% might have more of an issue (although even on lower max res maps lightning thorns hasn't been a problem since the nerf).

It wasn't asked, but I'll pitch in that the eldritch battery build has me running 5 static cost auras (that is, all of them) and 2 40% auras, with a pretty moderate amount of energy shield from my gear.

For any build though, you should be able to run 3 static auras (anger + wrath + grace) + 2x 40% auras. Just blood magic anger + wrath + grace using the covenant or malachai's so that the health reserve isn't bad.

I'm sure the question was asked before but i can't commit myself to reading through the whole thread, so here it goes:

How do you deal with Vaal? If you get too close he kills you with one hit and i imagine with Cleave you have to get close to hit him.

Avoid the grounslam with whirling blades, you can see that hes about to use it like 2 seconds before it hits so you have plenty of time, fi your reactions arent quick just use temporal chains on him.

Thanks for the quick answer. Another question: Would it be a good idea to take Vaal Pact? Sure, you need to drop something else to take it (maybe 8% life?) but the instant life leech should be worth it. Or not?
No potions or regen is pretty sucky. Those seething potions can be a big help in tight spots, and passive regen is very convenient, particularly on chaos DoT maps. Vaal pact is great with CI+ghost reaver builds (if you can get down to it), but with health builds I never take it.
In terms of Vaal Pact, one thing you should take in to consideration is your dps. The more dps you have, the more it benefits Vaal pact. I decided to try Vaal pact, and it worked for the most part, I can only remember 1 or 2 situations where I was screwed cuz of the no regen/no potions. But also, I was doing 22k dps which benefited the instant leech.

Thanks guys. Your answers were really helpful.
Why not use elemental equilibrium on the build?

Cleave swings both weapons every attack, it doesn't alternate. Plus your wrath and anger auras apply to both weapons, so even if it did alternate swings, elemental equilibrium would still be bad.

The result of EE is that enemies just have 25% higher resist everything, always. (Except the first swing).

EE maps are functionally almost identical to enfeeble maps with this build.

Here's my current dps with lvl 19 conc effect / 19 faster attacks / 18 multistrike. Also I don't have hatred on which for some reason raises my dps crazy even though it's physical.
