W0W, I've just checked the marauder build, and realised it's the EXACT SAME as the one I've just come up with, what the fuck is this, I'd even take the same bandit rewards... I guess I'll have to go for it now :D

" Now that the cruel reward has been bumped up to 6% attack speed instead of 4% attack speed, pretty much any cleave build should take attack speed, not a skill point. He updated the OP to indicate attack speed for the main build, but I don't think he remembered to update it in the alternate builds. |

I came poking around in here for maybe some opinion on the new Thunderfist gloves, but didn't find anything. If you wish to skip me rambling, essentially, do these make static blows irrelevant, or more lucrative... I really don't understand the lightning-stack/increase shock duration mechanic. I know it's in the build, but Victor said he takes it past level 80, and I already do really well without it, or these gloves, so thanks for the great build. I assume the gloves are good since at-the-least they add 1-100 lightning damage and 10 attack speed, but want to know if I should delay getting mana flows for immediate static blows.
Also, for fun, I put the cleave/wed/ml/conceffect on the gloves to also benefit from the added lightning damage, but the lack of life leech wasn't worth it. I rolled 60 chromatics and only got 2 red once, so I stopped pressing my luck. I will link my gear and my subs I worked in for the 4-L ele cleave if anybody cares. Thanks for any opinions about the gloves, or info about static blows. My tree is what Victor says to do by level 70, on my way to mana flows. I found the gloves, by the way, in the catacombs. I certainly couldn't afford them. Last edited by butteryone#1707 on May 12, 2013, 12:18:34 PM

" They cant make static blows irrelevant, the gloves dont have a chance to shock, only shock duration, without static blows you cant shock enemies. Its good damage but the problem is that you will need to get a lot of life and resistances on the rest of your gear, i suggest you get to at least 4.5k life before going in 71+ maps. EDIT:in before nitpick, you can shock with conductivity and quality added lightning damage too I carve and sell real animal skulls, check out my work here: https://www.instagram.com/victorseiche/ https://www.facebook.com/victorseicheart/ World first Uber Atziri as 2h and 2h RT build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1058950 Highest level char in Closed Beta, Wytchfindergeneral Last edited by VictorDoom#6290 on May 12, 2013, 12:34:20 PM

Thunderfist are really really good, and you definitely want static blows.
With resolute technique "chance to shock" is the only way to shock enemies, and that comes from static blows, and the node behind it. The thunderfist will then greatly increase the duration of the shock. Thunderfist will also allow you to shock monsters with more health than you otherwise would be able to. Shocking bosses should be no problem with thunderfist, at least when solo. Whether or not you shock an enemy is first determined based on your chance to shock, and then determined based on whether your shock duration would be long enough for it to bother putting up the debuff. If the shock duration (which is based on damage as compared to monster max life) would be less than 300ms, it doesn't shock. So thunderfist is going to cause you to shock much more often against blue/yellow/orange enemies. TL;DR: Thunderfist + static blows + chance to shock = win. |
