Cleave vs. Dual strike
So, the reason for my question is what ScrotieMcB said.
Than it is badly explained in my opinion. But even than, I think Cleave + Conc. effect is comparable to Dual Strike + Melee splash, here's why: Dual Strike + Melee Splash: Base Damage: 200% * 0.84 = 168% to main target 200% * 0.69 = 138% to others Additional damage: 57% + 57% = 114% Range: 12 * 1.2 = 14.4 Cleave + Conc.effect: Base Damage: 0.96% * 1.69 = 162% to all targets Additinal damage: 76% + 10% attack speed Range: 20 * 0.7 = 14 Bonus: -15% mana cost So, Cleave + Conc.effect deal almost equal base damage as Dual strike + Melee splash to main target and more base damage to other mobs in splash. 74% + 10% as is in most cases more than 114% inc damage. Range is almost equal and with Cleave route you also get -15% mana cost. Of course, all this is when playing non-critical. If critical build than Dual strike is better, hands down. |

keep in mind with dual strike you can very easily sub another damage support gem in place of melee splash in order to swap to single target to face off vs bosses very quick and easy.
aka its more versatile |
