I have a question about romira's banquet, here is what is said about it on the wiki page of the unique ring :
"Gain a Power Charge on non-Critical Strike: The player gains a power charge when a skill they cast does not roll a critical strike. Because this only happens once when the ability is cast, it is not possible to receive more than 1 power charge from an attack that hits enemies multiple times."
Note the bolded part. Im not sure if it's the wording that completely confuses me but it seem like you can only get one power charge per attacks? So lets say i use molten strike + multistrike, it would only grants 3 power charges (from the first attack + the 2 additional attacks from multistrike), completely ommiting the hits landed by the projectiles.
Or am i reading it wrong and you get a power charge from every hits?
Example if i were to use molten strike + multistrike + lmp + gmp and attack once, would I get a power charge from all these hits (assuming all the projectiles were to hit)?
(1 attack + 9 projectiles) * 3 (multistrike) = 30 power charges gained from one use of the molten strike skill?
I am really confused haha.
You gain one charge for every attack you do, so it's one charge every 3 Lightning/Molten Strike (one activation), not more.

This is probably a dumb question but... any reason not to use Crown of Eyes on this build?

Ok whats the purpose of using molten strike or lightning strike then? To cast more arc, which is only a small fraction of the dps?
And doesnt that mean that the thread starter's dps calculations are way off? He seems to compute projectiles landed when it comes to the discharge dps calculation.

The purpose of both Strikes is to trigger Mjölner more often, you start with a single charge off Molten/Lightning Strike, then every two hits (from every Projectiles and Chain) triggers the spells once, on average.

You also have to consider that you also cast arc (which doesn't need any kind of charges), so depending on the monster lvl arc alone already kills a huge amount of the enemy before it even comes into discharge range and there more procs are definitely more damage.

Oh i get it now : arc's hits also trigger romira's thus feeding you with more charges. Thats pretty clever haha :D
Ok here's an idea you guys tell me if it could means more dps (for a life budget version of the build) :
1. Remove iron will from mjolner and use another Arc instead (yeah we lose like 80% increased spell damage but 1 more arc almost doubles the amount of charges gained right?).
2. In the chest armor, remove the curse on hit setup and cast the curse manually (can even use enhance for even more resistance reduction)
3. Now that you have 2 more links in your 6l setup, use the following gems :
Molten strike, LMP, GMP, faster attacks, multistrike, life gain on hit.
4. That would be a potential of 30 hits every times you press molten strike : (first attack + 2 additional attacks from multistrike), all of them creating 9 projectiles. With 2 arcs at 50% chance to proc (via mjolner) that means a potential of 30 arcs every times molten strike is pressed. So if all the projectiles lands, that would mean a total of 33 charges every times molten strike is used. That sure would translate in a shit ton of dps from discharge (and the arcs themselves) and the life gain on hit would trigger at best 30 per molten strikes uses (30 * 45 HP) = 1350 HP per use.
Would this work well for a budget life version?

hm...
I'm playing the Life based version myself right now .. lets see if i can clear something up.
1) Yes more arc, but it's close to 90% Spelldmg you're losing, making your discharge alot weaker.
2) im useing a 5l atm, tried LMP, GMP .. and i can't sustain the mana costs (you only have around 200 unreserved mana)
4) im running life gain on hit + MS when im in maps where im not "allowed" to discharge (double arc + iron will) .. you dont leech enough with only Arc. so i can at least tell you that you heal alot with it but you're far away from dealing good dmg.

About the mana issue, im planning on trying some eldritch battery/mom (using cloak of defiance) so mana shouldnt be a problem (Gonna try this when new patch hits). I also have a nice mom ring with mana leech that im planning on using with romira's. Also, i will possibly have about 100% total increased arc/discharge damage from the tree (from aoe noes, spell nodes and elemental nodes) so losing Iron will wouldn't hurt my dps as much as it seem (going from 190% to 100% increased damage). Almost doubling the amount of charges gained via romira's (and therefore voll's) would probably offset that loss of dps and probably increase it.
But i have some questions for you though :
1. Do you run 2 or 3 auras?
2. What auras do you run?
3. How do you replenish mana? Some mana leech (theres 2% on romira's) or mostly via mana regen?
