[2.0] THOR'S RAINBOWNUKE: DO ALL MAPS, UBER ATZIRI, AND EXPLOSIONS!
Have Mjolner on ambush, Shavs on standard. It's going to be a long month. Currently in the 70s so I should be able to get close to 90, at least low 80s before the merge. Really excited to dig into this build.

Loving the build idea and managed to get a Mjolner on Standard and was doing some messing around with it. I did come across Etup's stream on Invasion (I think) and he is using a Lightning Coil chest along with Purity of Lightning for help with physical damage mitigation. He's also going for double Arc instead of the Discharge, and a few other changes that I was also trying out...looking like more focus on increasing both LS and MS damage in whatever ways he can.
While I know that this style isn't exactly the whole nuke thing, was curious about your thoughts on it. Thread can be found here: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/924551/page/1 It does bring up a few questions: 1. If you don't quite have all the equipment for the Discharge portion of this build, could you use a similar setup to Etup's as sort of a 'transition' while you're waiting for it? 2. What are your thoughts on Lightning Coil for use in the 'Budget Life Build' portion of your guide? 3. Can you you still use Righteous Fire while maybe focusing a bit more on block chance, or would you lose too much in terms of life regen to sustain it? Obviously, wouldn't be going for Iron Reflexes or things on the right side of the tree, but would it be possible to grab some shield block nodes, or would the added block not be worth it in the end? 4. On a higher life build would Blood Magic gems to run MS and LS be worth it or to invest points going towards Iron Grip? Thanks a lot in advance. :) Workin' towards the Righteous Fire part of the build myself and just waiting on leveling up the proper gems before respeccing my old level 89 Scion to give this build a full try. ^_^ |

" 1. Yes, it's possible but deals a lot less damage. Discharge is crazy. 2. Lightning Coil is an amazing choice as a life-based chest. Nothing speaks against using it. 3. That depends on how much you sacrifice and whether you want to be able to run RF on Vulnerability / half-regen maps. You can do the math yourself for your particular setup. (RF deals 50% of your life + energy shield per second as fire damage to you.) I want to remark, that the requirements for Righteous Fire are quite harsh. I wouldn't even think about running it with less than 94% Fire Resistance. Optimally you'd get 96%. Getting 97% would require too many passive points for routing to all the aura nodes. 4. Iron Grip is a very bad idea. All it does is increase the damage of your Molten Strike's and Lightning Strike's projectiles which do no damage anyways. A Blood Magic gem is possible, but Mana should be enough. IGN: Pirteloli Last edited by Tom94#4433 on May 31, 2014, 9:54:17 PM

Just dropped a Mjolner earlier so I'll prob start leveling a new char to do this build. Does the phys dmg on the Mjolner matter at all? The Lit dmg is good but the phys is low - I can Divine until both are high but if the phys doesn't matter I won't bother. +1 Shavs Project -----> /1075009

Hi, before anything, congratulations on the build and the guide, u did a really great job, this build really pushes POE playing experience to the next level of fun
I've beeing trying this build for this last weekend, and here is something I want to share with community. I dont think rellying on snapshoting is a good optiong bcz: 1 - AURA SNAPSHOT WILL BE REMOVED SOON as mentioned officially on the foruns 2 - It takes time swaping itens and snapshoting, imho it makes the experience less fluid With this thing in mind i made my own version of the build without snapshoting, and built a bit more defensive (i dont like dying) 1 - the first thing i realized was damm, it fits so well on the build, 60 STR, 60 DEX, stun immunity on low life, it saved me 12 passive points, i cant understand why OP is not using it (not judgind, just saying), of course it has the -40 movespeed on lowlife, so we need to counter it using Leap Slam + Faster attacks. Leap Slam can trigger Mjolner effect so, while solo, half of times, i dont even need to attack, just keep leaping 2 - as mentioned on the OP: 100 STR does make things much easier, and also, save more passive points 3 - RIGHTEOUS FIRE I decided to not use RF, i dont wanna bother about snapshoting it, or worry about regen mod, elemental weakness and vulnerability. In case you want to use is totally possible, but i just prefer not having to worry about all the stuff mentioned before and having more ES and spell damage from shield. 4 - Auras 4l - Reduced mana + Purity of fire + purity of cold + purity of lightning 4l - Reduced mana + discipline + Haste + Blood Magic 4l - Reduced mana + Grace + Faster Attacks + Leap Slam The addition of grace gives us in average 45% chance do evade, this is great while not leeching 5 - Other Buffs 3l - Blood Rage + Cast When Damage Taken + Immortal Call Blood rage must b at level 20, IC and CWDT lvl is a personal choice, as well as linking BR with CWDT (i wasnt able to get this colours on my shield yet, just need to buy some chromes) 6 - CHEST Solaris Lorica or Shavrones 5l - Cyclone + Lightning Strike + GMP + Multistrike + Increased AOE 6l - Cyclone + Lightning Strike + GMP + Multistrike + Curse on hit + Elemental Weak./Enfeeble 7 - Power Charges Well i disagree about extra charges beeing useless, having 5 power charges while facing packs are preatty easy, for single target u can replace ARC for:
Spoiler
This way u can kp 3-4 power charges up on bosses, with a few 5 charges occouring eventually Arc is superior for packs, so, u can kp Spark on your inventory and replace arc before engaging fights with hard bosses The Build Current Build (level 84)

" Hi andrehbg, I'm sorry, but I don't see how your build is more tanky than mine. There don't seem to be any passive point choices that increase survivability. Actually, the lack of the marauder max resis & life regeneration make your passive tree less tanky. 1: Compared to boots like my ones Lioneye's boots are a suboptimal choice in my opinion. I find the movement speed very important, since it's less desync-prone and easier to use around doors compared to movement skills. The difference of a whopping 50% movement speed is big. But even when ignoring the movement speed, you are only saving 6 passive points (routing to unwavering from marauder + 2 30 Dex nodes. One could even argue, that the routing near unwavering gives you access to more aura nodes.) while sacrificing a lot of possible base ES and other stats on the boots. My ones for instance have +50 Int, which grant another 10% increased ES. It'd be very hard to reach similar benefits with just 6 passive points. 2: The same arguments apply towards rare ES gloves. Of course, like with the boots, if you don't have the currency to afford good rares the uniques are likely the best option. 3: You can build around RF and just not use it on vulnerability + half-regen maps. You can even equip a spell damage + ES shield for such maps with almost no efficiency loss compared to a non-RF build. In my opinion the benefits of RF in most maps overweight the small loss when doing specific ones. Also note, that RF is very possible with vulnerability or half-regen alone. Only -max or the combination of vulnerability + half-regen make me unable to sustain it. 7: If you are consistently getting more than 3 charges from packs, then that is a bug with romira's banquet. Statistics say, that you will almost never benefit from additional power charges. In any case - even if they do give a benefit against packs - it is pretty much useless. Packs die in a fraction of a second even in 6-man groups. The only encounters holding you back are the single-target ones, even if they don't happen often. The rest of what you described is personal preference and there aren't really good arguments against them. For instance I prefer having faster attacks in my chest at the expense of having to swap in Cyclone for bosses. I am glad you like the build. :) IGN: Pirteloli Last edited by Tom94#4433 on Jun 2, 2014, 3:57:31 AM

" Its more tanky by runing grace, 45% evasion is 45% evasion, and ur regeneration is used to sustain RF. I dont go for the marauder area, so it saves me lots of points, if i went for marauder regen nodes it would save less. Boots and gloves together gives aroung 500 ES, using them save enought points to overcompensate its loss, and its cheaper. Shield cold be better but all hight spell dmg hight ES out there are mirror worth so i am using this one. Romira's seens to work like volls protector, but with a power charge on non critical, the system u metntioned would be the counterpart of power charge on critical gem, try it and you will see, since i am not using RF more charges are a good way to increase discharge dmg for packs, usefull for 6 pple gight level maps. PS: Leap slam dont case that much desync, but indeed it cases desync sometimes, cyclone desync a lot more, well, i have no problem with doors and stuff like that, i guess its just matter of geting used to it how would ur build looks like without snapshoting? peace Last edited by andrehbg#7503 on Jun 2, 2014, 6:29:41 AM
