Heavy Summoner Arc Witch Guide [ Video Included ]
" I REALLY like this idea. Will take a few chrom orbs to do and I'll have to lose faster projectiles from my spectres, but i'll try it for sure as slow is a great CC. Thanks a lot! |

Hello Voidmoon.
I first of all want to thank you for your awesome builds. At first I wanted to go pure fire but I quickly realized that this was really hard for a first time player. So I wanted to throw in some summons to help as meat shields. I am now realizing at level 49 that the zombies are crazy! I don't have the best gear at all. I am very disappointed in my actual damage. I really wanted to be a fire witch because it is the least popular and I like to go against the grain in these games and do the 'not-too-popular builds to show they can be effective. I don't die often except on bosses that don't give bodies to raise zombies but skelly-totem alleviates this some. I made some noobie mistakes earlier in my career because I had not found your guide yet. I used 8 or so refund points to get the tree you see here:

I am considering moving to the arc build to further enhance what I am already seeing. Crazy zombie damage. Do you think it is doable to take what I have now and make it into your arc build? |

Thanks for that nice build :)
I´m actually doing this build at lvl 34. But how do you get chain to work?? I want to use it and realized that it needs a lot dexterity! At lvl 1 it needs 51dex and at lvl 75 more then 100 dex. But in your build you only have 34 dexterity points. How do you guys handle this, expecially on higher levels? Antiquities from the early days of Path of Exile

What Level do yall usually get Wrath/Clarity to?
|

which damage deal zombie and skeletons? Physical?
And which damage when explode? Phys? Fire? Does it make sense to use a curse Vulnerability ? " Witch get Wrath and Clarity as reward from killing Brutus. Also Shadow get Clarity from Brutus, and Ranger get Wrath from Brutus too. Last edited by npoXBOCT on Feb 12, 2013, 2:00:14 AM

" I think he means what level do we get the gem to. Mine are both 15 or 16 right now. I'm lvl 64 for reference. Also I've decided against using a cold spell as a CC like I expressed interest in before. I feel like we have enough of a CC with 2 meat shields, and I should instead leave the faster projectiles in place rather than sacrifice it for a spell that takes away from my arc. Wish void would stop by and touch base. Last edited by Scotchfist on Feb 12, 2013, 2:24:45 AM

as this spec my defense is pretty much just hiding behind the minions yeah?

What do you think about using Queens Decree in this build? While you may lose the spellpower bonus, you get a great deal extra summons and extra health for them.

I'm 72 and been following this build (thanks Void!)
I figured I'd post up my current thoughts and feelings on the build and where I'm taking it when it comes to "after" voids skill point tree: I know Void says Arc is "not for doing damage" just for spreading shock charges.. but my gosh.. I'm level 72 and even in 69 maps (highest I've done) the damage from my arc is really strong! I keep waiting for it to stop feeling like my arc does damage, but it hasn't happened. So, I'm now stacking damage to go with the minions. Here is my current tree: Here is where I'm headed: EDIT** Link works now - end goal^^ I don't have a good feel for what is considered to be "Great items" in this game yet - but I feel my Wand and Shield are really really powerfull for making Arc do nasty damage: My Wand and Shield
Spoiler
So you can see - my wand adds 83% Spell Damage and 11% Faster Cast speed (I have BBG for my Spectre - its running Increased Damage and LMP) My Shield adds another 15% Spell Damage, +2 Lighting Gems and 86% Critical Strike Chance for Spells - Its BBB for Arc - Proliferation and Faster Casting The tool Tip damage for my Arc right now i just over 900. (EDIT** its up to 1089 now - RE-edit: its at 1589 now level 78) I've gotten to where (when farming Docks) I don't even bother dropping Skelly Totems unless I'm fighting rare/elite packs. I just run up and Spam Arc and its all dead. The way I'm set up right now minimizes the need to 100% rely on your minions to explode and do damage. Of course, when they do, its great! But its not as important. The reason I think this way is the right way to go is that - what are you loosing? More health? More Regen? I don't think you need either one unless you want to run Chain instead of Proliferation (Not good IMO) which costs way more and does less damage. Besides - most people seem to be NOT leveling Clarity up all the way - but you should level it all the way up. If you can't level it up - just wait a few levels for your mana pool to get larger, then level it up. Also, I run 4 Auras. One 40% Aura (Purity) and one Very expensive Aura (Clarity) both hooked up of course to reduced mana. I have those on my boots. I also have Wrath and Anger hooked up to Blood Magic and Reduced Mana on my gloves. This takes my Life from 2.1k down to about 1.65k But I think its worth it by far. Especially because I have a nearly 1k ES pool (needs to get larger). Purity is mostly for my own benefit - I know the minions get it too and in theory makes them harder to die (explode) but in my expirience this logic is false. Here is why: You want your minions to explode. If your minions have HUGE health pools, they will explode and doo ALOT of damage. If you are going high spell damage like me (Arc) than for the little trivial fights, your minions exploding doesnt matter. Their actual physical+wrath+anger damage is all you need to kill white trash packs with your arc. For bigger bosses or hard rares that you actualy DO want them to explode - I find MUCH better explosion quanitites with Purity going. In my expirience your Skellies espeically don't usually explode on BIG HARD HITTING bosses. Because, minion instability makes your minions explode at LOW health, not when they die. So, the big annoying monsters that do AE damage (like Piety) that are so annoying to kill with this build get WAY easier with Purity running. Your Skellies have a better chance to get low, rather than just go 1 shot dead. Lastly - I don't see myself using Deaths Bargain with this current set up. I'm doing damage myself, which I would loose 50% spell damage with that weapon (bad idea). Plus, I'm already using blood magic for Wrath and Anger (Easily makes up the extra damage you get from Deaths Bargain I think). I WANT to use Bargain, and I may fiddle with it, but for now, this ARC damage path fits my play style perfect. Also, I am not using the Silk Summoner Boots (forget the name). I had a pair, used them, liked them (extra spectre was awesome!) but in the end I want more movement speed (faster farming) and more other stats. Besides + 1 more Zombie doesn't feel that great. What you want is +life and +damage to minions, and thats not on those boots. The way I look at it - if it were on the Passive Tree, whch would you Take? A skill node that added +20 mana +20 life +1 Zombie +1 Spectre and +10-15% Movement? Or one that adds +up to 109 Life +up to 68 mana +up to 30% movement Speed and possibly +Tripple Resistance or item rarity/quanitity? I wan't the later - that said - the 3rd Spectre is ALot of fun and probably a good filler till you get an end game pair of boots - I just feel its not needed with Arc doign soo much damage so I sold my pair for 3 GCP (only spent 2 on them, so profit!) Thats it - I'll make another post if I decide any of this is horrible advice (I'm not an expert at this game by any stretch - only been playing for a short time).
