1.1.3 Puppet Master Summon, aura, curse, EE Newbie built, newbie friendly :) Low cost, high impact

I really don't like Skele's. I was using them on a totem with faster casting and MI keystone until I started mapping lots. Basically Skele's and the totem die far to quickly and easily, essentially I found them more hassle than they were worth.

So I run the second RZ in that position just to level it. And all of my switch weapons are also full of gems being leveled (if you didn't know gems level in the switch slots - so keep them full at all times! :)).

Here's my new armour, I've been playing around recently trying to optimise my farming so ignore the gems in the bottom links for now.


Personally I think it's a really nice chest and plan to 6L it. But that's a big investment for another day :)

What about if I link Skeletons up with Spell Totem and Faster Casting? What's CwDT?
If you can see, now i've linked a Reduced Mana gem to Clarity and Vitality. Bare in mind I have no idea if i'll actually benefit from either of them, but they sound good.

I know about leveling gems. The Portal gem seems to be really handy, but what's the point keeping it slotted all the time? I may as well use gems that will improve me, and level other gems whenever I get the chance.

As you can also see from my selection of gems, I opted to take out Fire Penetration, Arc, Molten Shell, Frost Wall, Cast When Damage Taken, and Arctic Breath. I believe I might benefit more from Auras and Skeletons. Again, bare in mind I have absolutely no idea...

And as you've moved Flesh Offering and Portal from your weapon, what's replaced them?

CwDT = cast when damage taken

I haven't done the maths yet but I doubt you'll be able to run purity, hatred, discipline, vitality and clarity off mana even with fully leveled reduced manas. Unless you've got alphas howl.

Alternatively, if you run them on life you'll need prism guardian. But take a look at the jungle Valley boss fight. I've got 2k life and it's knocking that right down. If I was running 2 auras on life I would have been 1 shotted on 2 occasions in that fight.

Plus both howl and prism are expensive bits of kit I didn't have when I made this.

1. Hatred is awesome, far superior to Anger etc. The point is that Hatred is a % more damage on the damage applied. So it produces far more damage than the others. Also its cold damage so chills / freezes / shatters enemies.

I seen you grabbed sovereignty. my advice to help auras and othter buffs and lower mana reduce to grab inner force and to grab the other 2 in the shadow you put 1 point in it name is influence. there a major boost to auras. I would recommend getting them. you decreased reserve but now you can increase the output of all auras. discipline more es. hatred more cold purity more res. If you ever get a alphas howl. that be great helm. also if your ever able to use more auras and you get max res drop purity and get the other 3 those increase the max resistance your at 77 max res, but getting them higher is alot more help in defence it reduces the elemental damage. and another aura would help is vitality. minion also regen life to help sustain them. also have you considered getting CI? also people say use melee damage or multistrike. um ya those do some help but also the minion gems is what they were made for.

SaveMeJeebus - If torment shell is the same price I'd get that. But depends on whether you badly need the extra resist on the other. Personally I'd buy torment and get the resist elsewhere.

Thanks for the feedback. Have been wondering whether to get influence or not for a while. I've got 5 points spare at the mo and was thinking about what else could be got with the remaining points to 90. Think I'll give it a try for now and reconsider once I've seen what the difference is.

Alpha's is definitely on the 'to get' list, just need the ex now! CI is not something I'm really considering at the mo though. My chaos resist isn't horrible and the life value is ok so chaos is dangerous, but not deadly. I think losing 2k life for CI would make about every situation dangerous. At the moment I'm considering buying the solaris plate which doubles as a cheap Wrappings to get basically the same effect.

On the auras, vitality is nice, but minion survival isn't normally much of an issue. I found a prism recently, so been testing running auras on life, mainly haste for various reasons. Biggest problem is of course the above chaos damage so I'm not going to post about the changes until I'm more confident in the overall package.

There's been a nice new minion damage calc posted recently. From both that and from playing - the combo I posted is a lot stronger. Multistrike gives about 400 dps more per zombie compared to minion damage (with 0 qual like mine). So that's at least 3.6k dps between the two as there are 9 zombies, not counting any grasp zombies.

Thanks both for your comments. I'm going to update tomorrow with some objective based paths to the build. The build is designed to be adaptable so I'd rather explain why you're going in a particular direction.
