Want to thank Tempada for this build. Really nice and joy to play.
Also author is very kind and always supported me with any kind of advices when needed.

Few days ago managed to get my second chest for this build.Mirroed. Now need to sell previous one.

So, selling very high rolled For this build. Price is 35Ex. For adittional 3EX can add ALL requered EK CAST GEMS. THEY ARE: Added Fire Damage,Life Leech, Ethernal knives, Spell Echo, Faster Casting, Faster Projectiles. All gems are lvl 18-19.(Average 20 chaos for lvled gems). Selling them because mine all are lvl 21 corrupted ones.

Does anyone have an idea how well this build will work once the expansion is released? I've read a lot of posts indicating that EK will be very weak after the release.

If the Beta changes stay, EK is currently one of the best spells, imo. Check out my latest posts, you'll see why.

What Cantrip said. EK will be fine (great, even), it's just a matter of defenses now. My particular build will have slightly different pathing than what's on the front page, but it will be pretty similar for those who use Acrobatics. An Iron Reflexes build is so far out of the way that it's not worth it, so expect to use Acro (or Lightning Coil if you want to save points on the tree).

I'm trying to figure out a build with lightning coil for the expansion, but I have the feeling I'll be way too fragile. Any suggestions?

Lightning Coil should be pretty good. Try this tree:


Take more mana nodes if you need them.

EK + Physical to Lightning + Spell Echo + Faster Casting + Faster Projectiles + Added Lightning/Life Leech/Added Fire/Empower (I still have to fool around with some gems).

Wrath + Herald of Thunder + Hatred (Alpha's Howl needed). There are other aura options too.

This is just a quick suggestion. I might do an update once The Awakening hits.

Why no Nullification?

There's not much point in stacking evasion. I'd rather grab more life nodes.

I might update this weekend, but you can follow Cantrip's Scion build in the meantime. I'd do a similar tree, something like this. All those jewel slots are too hard to pass up. If you want to use Shadow, go with this.

Hatred + HoA + Clarity + Arctic Armour/HoI in Alpha's Howl.

EK + Spell Echo + Faster Casting + Added Fire Damage + Faster Projectiles + Empower/Life Leech.

Try a spell dagger instead of a wand so you can use Whirling Blades + Fortify (+ Additional Accuracy + Faster Attacks). Or there's sceptre/staff with Leap Slam and the previous links.

Use The Blood Dance boots (ideally corrupted with +1 frenzy charge) so you can generate frenzy charges and get extra life regen and damage.
