1.2.0 - Spectral Throw Crit Dagger (HC Viable)
" I can't afford to use another unique amulet in this build. I have thought of different ways to get more spell block or spell dodge. Vaal Grace+ Rumi's Convocation + Phase Acrobat is the most amount of spell dodge/block I can get from the build without huge changes. Trust me. 1) Spell block nodes in witch tree (too far.) 2) Most uniques are not options since I need those rares. 3) Corrupting rare not an option, they are almost in-replaceable. When using too many uniques, there is capping resistance problems and low hp issue. All my rares are crucial and can't be easily swapped out. Ming's heart ignores the -60 chaos resist merciless penalty which is very neat. So I don't need to worry about negative chaos resistance penalty. When running Lightning coil (Best armor piece for Acro/ondar build). You need a total of a mimimim of 465% to cap resistance. Need 430% if running purity of lightning (-39% but+ 4%too). Need 384% if running purity of elements (-81%). Maybe, I made the mistake of running purity of lightning. Yet, without PoL is even harder to gear for the -60% resistance. On average you need at least 80% resistance and almost top tier life mod on each piece of gear. On top of it you need to solve stat requirement. (At least 110 str for lv20 reduced mana/ 151 Int for Purity of Lightning [miminium of 108 to run increased critical damage or meet dagger requirement]) Bought for 1 ex, priceless amulet don't think I can find a better one. STR, INT, equiv to 74 hp, 72% resist Quest Reward. (actively looking for replacement) eqiv to 68 hp, 87% resist, STR, lifeleech (bonus)
My other Rares
bought for 1ex. Rustic stash best is slot for dps, leather belt is good alternative. Phy Doryani's Never LOL. 86 hp, %phy dmg, 97% resit, %ele dmg (better than none) Drop Decent evasion, 78 life, Movespeed, 78% resistace, 28chaos resistance (icing on top) Bought for 15c, toss a couple of divine to get good roll. Must be evasion based shield so that you can get over 40% est chance to evade. Ok evasion, 84% life, 119% resistance I think I did i pretty decent job gearing. Hope my thoughts process can give you guys some insights on gearing the character. Last edited by MinaGing#4046 on Oct 7, 2014, 12:36:00 PM

I found The Harvest
and was thinking of trying to convert this build to 2h...any thoughts? |
|
" The attack speed is so low. Plus do you think you can get those 2 handed axe nodes on the passive tree effectively? What about your defense, no shield = less defense. |
|
So I found this... I'm going to be doing this build with this claw (after some more master crafting). The tree seems very doable for claws, only thing I can see I'm losing is some Crit Multiplier which I'm ok with in HC. Here's the tree: http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgYAsNii2cgU9W9qjBa_sbMmle1BYeKmf1VLtUiMNm1s8-rndDY9Kgvo1uOEnarssHBSIuqbJs3qBbUOSGKsbIyMC4nT2j0yAY2_1CNjQxGWtMW5fHDVCSFb97IZUUcwcQEJf8YHHhX9HoFSDc9651QwfN2ouNmio5UuijhLjWHrJP1_K419S3jdSA_E8NVkr_8celP_3taKI_Y6Qjt8SVFF9E2So4q4ym9X18tMYLfTBLE94pVmSO54rhut034AXu96fXUZjucK_rrtgwqbCC546_zFZ6C3F4d2gOFKfeJeOJY= Will let you know how it goes! Also why do you suggest the order CWDT - Immortal Call - Enduring Cry - Increased Duration? lvl 71 atm, switching between Bringer of Rain + Reave and Spec Throw + Double Strike witha 5link chest... both are fun and use the same skill tree (so far), not decided which to carry on with. Here's my gear: Bringer/Reave: 5link Spec Throw Last edited by dandan88#5096 on Oct 13, 2014, 10:03:34 AM

@dandan88: That was before I knew that each gem on CWDT is on it's own cooldown. Order doesn't matter at all.

" Order Matters Spell are cast in clock wise direction Since immortal has a longer cast time than enduring cry. immortal call should be place before enduring cry. |

" I have done some simulations with 2H maces, 2H axes, 2H swords, and staves. The best results are obtained with staves : - best crit chances amoung 2H melee weapons - block chances for the survivability aspects (19% on tree + 12% on staff = same as a shield) - staves clusters have 2H crit clusters in the vicinity Here is the tree that I advise (lvl 70). Note that there are multiple life and damage nodes for future enhancement (depending on the needs of the moment). What we look for is : - Life - Armour - ES - Crit chances - Crit multiplier Notes on tree : - Iron Grip would cost 5 skill points for 46% of additional damages (230 strength), we could do better by taking the 2H Melee Weapon cluster (the one with Martial Experience). Concerning the gems, you could use the gems specified in this thread, with slight differences : - Use leap slam instead of whirling blades - Maybe use GMP instead of LMP because with staves damages will be higher than with daggers which are already amazing. So use GMP could offer a wider AoE will maintaining good damages. I started a new Scion yesterday to test the viability of this build 'on the field'. Feel free to express your feelings about this spec. Last edited by theonepos#1876 on Oct 15, 2014, 5:38:55 AM

So anyone want to speculate on Herald Of Thunder?
--- Flat elemental damages : -- Fire Aura : anger - 60% mana reserved -- Lightning Aura : wrath - 60% mana reserved -- Cold Buff : herald of ice - 25% mana reserved --- Elemental damages based on physical damages : -- Fire Buff : herald of ash - 25% mana reserved - +15% as fire - Effect : corpse explosion -- Lightning Buff : herald of thunder? - 25% mana reserved? - +15% as thunder? - Effect : occasional thunder strike (HoT teaser screenshot) ? -- Cold Aura : hatred - 60% mana reserved - +[26%, 36%] as cold All aura/buff couples will be availables with the next patch. Herald Of Thunder might be a good boost for this build. What do you guys think? Last edited by theonepos#1876 on Oct 16, 2014, 8:49:19 AM

Herald of Thunder are for casters. Will not affect our crit ST build for sure.
In the teaser screenshot, the character is using arc. |
|
The Herald of thunder gem will definitly be an intelligence based skill, but I don't really think that it will be for caster as the previous Heralds were not dedicated to a specific play style (attack/spell).
I doubt that GGG will not hold to their logic aura/buff - one providing flat ele damage - one providing %dmg phys as ele damage Last edited by theonepos#1876 on Oct 16, 2014, 4:59:44 PM
