Critical strike apply for spells?
Hey!
So I stumbled across several passive skills which grant me either: 1: x% increased critical strike chance or 2: x% increased critical strike chance for spells Does that mean that if I spec the 1st option it won't apply to spells? Also, does it actually increase the actuall crit chance or does it increase the chance you already have. For example: I have a wand that grants me 8% critical chance. If I spec 50% increased critical strike chance for spells. Will I have: a: 58% critical damage for spells. or b: 12% critical damage for spells. Thanks, Reiser |

First question: both apply to spells. If a modifier doesn't specify a specific context, it is global.

spells have differents critical chance for example ice spear is 7% crit chance
So if you have 50% crit chance for spells from passives You would crit at 9,5%, but as second form is 600% crit chance the second form of ice spear would crit at (10,5*6)%=63% chance. Other spells have differentsw crit chance if you hover over a gem you would see a spell crit chance. Freezing pulse has 6% so that gives 9% crit chance Only ice spear has second form. " The first question is actually incorrect. Generic crit applies to everything, spells and weapons. If it specifies spells then it ONLY works for spells. Don't spread misinformation. |

" It means that the skill in question is being affected by a support gem that is reducing the damage as part of the cost of using that support gem. Oh wait, . .let me go double-check that. . .I wouldn't want to misinform anyone and run the risk of being scorn again by a cool guy like ArcaneWeapon. . .yes, okay. . .that looks like it is correct. Hi guys I dont want to necro some 2months old thread... but I just want to clear if we can combine the Critical Strike Chance (passive node) and Critical Strick Chance for Spell (passive node) and Generic Critical Strike MOD (from Weapon like Dagger) Critical like for example if I use Freezing Pulse?
