Upon seeing the chance for 6 linking I burned my (useless) 13 vaal orbs for the fun of it. Did manage to get a 5L:
But with locked sockets it's kinda useless, unless you can vaal orb a corrupted item.. can you? that would atleast give you a chance for some white sockets. Hejren / Triceps / Regnbuen / Sarinti / Striglen / Mareridt / Spoegelset / Doktoren / Dobbelganger / Skjoldtrold / Forkynderen

Like what's the chance of getting a certain color combination on a certain item? We're guessing and approximating, but the difference in approximations is often in the 1000s of chromes. Can't make an informed choice under those conditions. Of course the developers smile and say "We can. Sucks to be you." Numbers involving a player's choice to try or not to try for something should be public. The argument that hidden numbers make the game more fun is silly. if you have vaal ice nova replace vaal snap with it.
after you get used to when to cast it youll see that ice nova has immensely bigger dmg and utility potential (esp when it crits) i have cold crit spec and cold snap was an utter disapointment.. |

Edit: Like imagine if someone got a clue at a meetup about the GCP vendor recipe, and then figured it out and he was one of the people who exploited the GCP recipe before it was revealed.
